Questions to Biomechanical

OK I was right, the Eight moons CDs are sold out and we are in the process of ordering some more, very sorry about that we are trying to sort it out as soon as poss.

can you e-mail biomechanical_merch@yahoo.co.uk and let them know of your situation?

Cheers

Will do, thanks. I shall say that you sent me.

There is no problems with the delay, just wanted to make sure it had not gone missing in the post. I actually quite like waiting for these things to turn up... it kind of takes me back to being young and trawling through second hand record shops for an elusive record, or anticipating an order coming in to the shop. Sad and sentimental, but it works for me. There is no romance in the download generation!

It's best to hold back until you find a comfortable place in your throat. It needs to be more relaxed than intense singing in order to get results. There is a very fine line between singing loudly and screaming. You can easily damage your voice or cause your vocal cords to swell if you overdo it on the first track of a gig. If you do that you will struggle to sing the rest of the songs. The more comfortable you feel the easier you'll find hitting higher notes and you will enjoy the gigs more as well...
...If your talking voice is mid range you probably have better chances in singing mid high range. If you have a low voice probably it's easier to do high screams and growls (I can only assume this is the case). But for me most important thing is to overcome the break from natural voice to falsetto and extent your natural voice upwards. It's difficult to explain with words but that's the best explanation and advice I can give you
OK. I guess when I say 'screaming my balls off' it probably is more just singing really loudly, which would seem to lead quite happily back to my inability to sound even remotely aggressive. I guess my voice is a bit nasal, which is a shame - do you think there's anything I can do to improve that? And no, unfortunately, it pains me to say it, but I actually don't know how to do the whole growl thing - I can imagine it's quite hard to describe, but do you have any hints?

OK, sorry, I hope i'm notgetting tiresome or anything....I hope it's OK for me to pick your brain...

:) Cool hope you get the album soon :)

I was wondering what tuning you guys play in. Listening to the album, its difficult to tell. Some songs sound really heavy, but it kind of sounds like the Pantera, not tuning to concert pitch (with bass EQ boost).

My band are playing vagely similar type of guitar orrientated metal (though not quite as complex as you guys) yet.

Cheers for any replies. :)

Ps- Biomechanoid#001, i like your Giger avatar. One of my favourite artists.

We have several tunings throughout the album.
Some tracks have a normal E tuning (Enemy within, The Empires of the Worlds) and for other tracks we tune the E string to D (Regenerated, Relinquished Destiny).
We also use 7 strings on a few tracks with different tuning on the bottom string(Long Time Dead, Disintegration).

Yeah man, I agree the guy is amazing!

Cool. Thanks a lot man. I appreciate it!
Thats an impressively heavy tone for E standard and drop D. :)

Gives hope to bands like mine that dont play in B or A :Spin:

I agree with your sentiments on Geiger! Amazing artist. Perfect style for your type of metal too. Maybe you should contract him for the next album cover? ;) That would be cool. :headbang:

I agree on the clarity thing with guitars man! My band play in D standard and that seems to get us a very meaty sound! Just need to EQ the buggers now. :erk: haha.

The production on the album is fantastic. Andy did an incredible job and the guitar tone is not the only thing that he helped. :)
I love the writting style as well. The blend you guys have produced between certain songs is incredible.
For example, Enemy within blends well into The Empires Of The Worlds very nicely. But for me the best has to be the blend into Survivor from DNA Metastasis. Amazing. :OMG:

OK, im going to stop this shameless praising now! :Spin:

The album art work is great. Really captures the vibe of your lyrics. :)

Being a biochemist that works with machines, i understand how you feel. haha

Thanks for all the replies dude. Much appreciated! :)

The art work is great for your album. I like your facial pictures inside as well. You all look so evil. METAL :headbang: hahaha

Your website is damn impressive as well. Bit of an aliens fan by any chance? :p

I just hope that you get good distribution of your album through century media. They havent helped bands like Stampin Ground get their music out to a wide audience!
Hope it goes well for you guys though, because you deserve to be huge. :worship:

Cheers

The flash interface came from Lee Ellis. he was working on it for a long time for a corporation and when he presented it to them they couldn't get their heads around it. it turned out better for our site :Spin:

Nice one dude :headbang:

I've seen a few pictures of jamie using a GK pickup in his ESP. In what songs does he use the GK pickup and what sounds did he use?

"I've seen a few pictures of jamie using a GK pickup in his ESP. In what songs does he use the GK pickup and what sounds did he use?"

Hi all. Well maliciousteve to answer your question.I use the GK pickup with a Roland GR33 guitar synth for live stuff. When we play the 8 Moons music I Play the String sections on "Do you know me?", On "Core of darkness" I add the low male choirs & Timpani drums while I play the main riff & add High choirs & strings under the chorus riffs, On "Distorted" I play a low cello line during the intro & verses, on Clean guitar sections in other tracks I add a steel string acoustic to double my electric clean sound & sometimes I also add string sections to clean guitar passages to.I am currently looking through the "Empires of the worlds" stuff to see what I am going to add guitar synth parts to.Whatever I end up playing, it will replicate the orchestrations on the album. The tricky part is that I have to play the guitar parts at the sametime as playing the orchestrated parts, which means making use of the expression pedal on the synth & the hold function. If you get the chance, next time you see us live take not of all the changes involved on "Core of Darkness" the foot work on the pedal board is exhausting!!!!

There is an advert in the back of Terrorizer for Biomechanical and Mendeed at The Underworld on 17/11.

I have not seen this mentioned anywhere else... is it happening?

No this is not happening, just a mistake.

Shame, it is the only gig that is easy for me to get to that I have not had to work or DJ through.

Any other live appearances soon? The last chance I had was the showcase gig, which was fantastic...

Yeah that was a great gig:)

I know that they are looking at a few gigs in December for the UK. When there is anything concrete I'll let you know:headbang:
