Questions to Biomechanical

Dear Biomechanical,

What kind of socks do you wear?

Sincerely,
Will Bozarth

Personally I favour the kind pre-worn by sweaty japanese school girls. Please note that these are exclusively worn down the front of my spandex drumming tights. For my feet I favour the choice of the professional, the now classic, Terry-cloth Joe Lynn Turner 'Signature series' Power sock.....mark 3.

Because they're twice as absorbent, they give the me the assurance and confidence I need and they keep me fresh and dry all day. And thanks to their patented winged design they are ideally suited to the active lifestyle
of todays drummer.

OOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW, DRUMMER FORM!!!!!
DRUMMER FORM FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:hotjump: :hotjump: :hotjump: :hotjump: :hotjump: :hotjump: :hotjump:

Hi there,

I know Earache/Elitist are contemplating getting the band back to the US for more gigs, we could have some news but it's too early to say anything about it to be honest,

Also there is some footage filmed by Redemption Films and we are having discussions with the label about releasing it. I'm sure at leas a couple of tracks will be shown over here so I'm sure they will be available one way or another.

Cheers

EDIT: BTW are you John?

BEER !

Okay. Last year, this French band, Gojira (Check them out !, I think you'd like them !) made a "special one time only" performance : they had this oooooooold silent movie (I think it was released so long ago Jesus has seen it in theaters), Maciste in hell (closest translation I can think of), played, and they played a soundtrack they have composed especially for this event while the movie was playing in the background... (We're still waiting for them to release than on cd/dvd btw).

That other French band I love (S.u.P.) have made a couple of soundtracks for indie short movies....

I know you guys think of your albums as soundtracks rather than a collection of songs (it shows >.o), which leads me to my questions.

- Would you do something similar to what Gojira did ? What movie ? Can I have some popcorn ?

- Which movie soundtrack do you listen to and go "fuck I wish I'd written that piece" and bash your brains on the mantlepiece or makes you want to cover it \m/ metuhl styule \m/ ?

- Here's a little equation for you :
YOU+GIG+FRANCE+BEER = X

Cheers guys /\^^\/ !

SALTED POPCORN ??!? OMG YOU AND YOUR FREAKY BRITISH TASTE ! I'm on my way. Two things they don't sell over here I survive on when I'm in the UK : Salt & vinegar pringles, and Dr Pepper. OH YEARH ! I eat them on the MANTELPIECE !

Anyway. I still haven't heard any of your covers (old school subliminal backwards kill your mom judas priest message : ypoc a em dnes dna srevoc meht drocer)... But yeah... The Imperial March would sound even better with the 'mech-treatment.

Merciless soundtrack covers hintage OF DEATH :

- L'aldila / The Beyond
Movie directed by Lucio Fulci. The soundtrack isn't "symphonic" (ala Goblins), only contains a few main themes arranged in different fashions. eV1L ! Could very well fit together the way Entombed did with Hellraiser.

- The matrix
YEAHR ! Just cuz.

- The Omen.
Just kidding. Even if I love that soundtrack to bits, EVERY FUCKING BAND uses Ave Satani as their gig intro. EVERY FUCKING BAND. Plus, Fantomas already recorded the ultimate Omen cover.

- Army of darkness
Don't you just love that one ? It fits the movie, it's good, it's fun. Groovy.

/\oO/\ Okay.......

One day, a friend came over my hoose, and had this tape in his walkman, so I went "watcha listening to", and put his tape in my shitty stereo, and it was King Diamond's "Conspiracy". I was not into metal before. I copied his tape right on the spot, and started listening to metal ever since, coz I rule like that.

What's your story, guys ?

speaking of covers do you guys think you might put painkiller cover on your DVD or album?

Hi there,

Haven't thought about puting covers on an album, even though I personally alway wanted to do a Biomech version of Blood Red Skies by Judas Priest as a b-side or something like that.

BTW how do i get your godlike vocals? :headbang:

Glad you like the vox,
It does take hard work and never be complacent or rest with the notion that 'you've got there'.
There is always something new to learn or the need to improve what you do
.

Hey Michel,

I was about 14 and doing a presentation in music, at school, about indie music (Oasis and all that shite) - this other guy did his on heavy metal and played 30 seconds of Iron Maiden - Killers. It completely blew me away - I borrowed the tape off him and became totally hooked.

Its still my favourite album :headbang:

Hey Michel.

Queen was the first band I ever got into, and also inspired me to play the guitar. I was having lessons and my teacher played me Enter Sandman by Metallica (obviously), and went straight out and bought the Black album. Then I just got into bands like Pantera Machinehead etc.

Thanks for answering, guys :) !

It's funny how that first metal album/first song, does something to you. It's like the key to a kingdom, and no matter how old you get, that album or song still does something for you.

I don't think other musics can make people have such a "revelation" kind of effect... You go "/\@0/\......... !" and your whole life changes. Just like when you taste Belgian beer for the first time, but better.

Sorry Iam late.

Me?

Guns N Roses. I heard 'Paradise City' and went straight out and bought 'Appetite For Destruction' and I was lost to rock and metal.

But it was only when I was about 9 when I heard Deep Purple's 'Made in Japan' that I knew what I wanted to do. GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

(as you can see, there is a picture of the man himself below)

also Jamie and Chris what is your guy's setup?

Hey man. Live, I use a Framus Cobra Stack. Effects wise, I use a Line6 Pod XT Live and run it through the effects loop so I'm not using any of the amp sounds from the pod, just the effects. Infront of the amp I use a Samson Airline wireless (I have a habbit of falling over my leads), a Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor (noise gate) and a Morley Bad Horsie Wah.

Guitar wise I mainly use my customised PRS Custom 22. I basically replaced the regular PRS trem with a Floyd Rose, and I have changed the pickups to EMG's. I use an '81 in the bridge and a '60 in the neck. I also use a PRS McCarty, again fitted with the same EMG's, and lastly I use a Gordon Smith 7 string fitted with an EMG 707 pickup. I would get a PRS one but I don't have £13000 to spend:cry:

Hope this was some help man, and hope i haven't bored the shit out of you:D

Take it easy.

Chris

Yeah, I'm the same. When you've just had an uber kult foot-on-monitor moment, it kind of pisses on your chips if you stumble like a drunken hobo right after.
