By the way, from what I initially suspected of what you guys were doing but what Ellestin made clear to me with a subsequent post, you guys ARE supposed to be rating the album based on how suitable the recommendation was based on your tastes. It's not a general rating for the album itself.. though it's easy to confuse the two or have them be one and the same.

As I said above it's a fine line but here are thoughts that can enter into the equation besides conventional album rating:

- a band you had no idea about that instantly makes your wishlist wow +2 bonus points, kudos reco-man
- I actually don't dig it too much now but respect the fact it opened me up a little bit to a new style/approach of music I might be inclined to explore later, +1
- ok album but could have been recommended by my gynecologist, -1

which is why I insist it kind of ruins the fun when you produce a list of several albums to pick from, or even in some cases pretty much ask your "opponent" what you should recommend him... Just take your chances, give each other some surprise!
