RC June Lunacy (Lilies Once Black)

it's in the woods
spoken by animal lips
my seal and my epitaph
it's the sumerian cry

I just downloaded Tiamat stuff two days ago because of your constant talking-about-them

so far I just listened to Wildhoney because I forgot the name of the other album I downloaded and can't find it in my list

but... I like what I hear!

Damn dude, sometimes I'm literally FLOORED by what you haven't heard. FLOORED, I say!

]Unfortunately, I don't care for any of these titles.

Therion - nothing from their catalog interests me
Tiamat - nothing from their catalog interests me
My Dying Bride - I need to more seriously revisit their back catalog
Bethlehem - who?
Amon Amarth - overrated disc
Blind Guardian - not a fan of Hansi's voice
Anathema - nothing from their catalog interests me
Paradise Lost - nothing from their catalog interests me
Cemetary - who?
Samael - nothing from their catalog interests me
In Flames - almost nothing from their catalog interests me
Dimmu Borgir - I realize it earns me no board cred to say so, but the only DM disc I enjoy is Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia
Amorphis - don't cared for anything pre-Tuonela
Green Carnation - nothing from their catalog interests me
Satyricon - one of the most overrated discs on this board

- haven't heard either, but probably will download the package to check them out

Cemetary - An Evil Shade of Grey
Samael - Worship Him

In Flames - Lunar Starin

Dimmu Borgir - For All Tid

Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus
Green Carnation - Journey To The End Of Night

Katatonia - Dance of December Souls

I haven't heard Tiamat too, despite their constant mention by people all over the place. Won't be voting until I listen to them either. Very easy to get lost in the immersiveness of some of the genres and forget about other things entirely (No matter how much I try change things, BM takes up most of my time). There's about 10 albums I've been recommended to listen to in the last week alone in addition to the "things I really want to hear but never get to" list I made for myself.

The package is a nice sentiment, but I wouldn't vote without listening to full albums!

I listened to Sumerian Cry earlier today, and it screams straight foward Death Metal.. the riffs, drumming, vocals, everything really.. are you confusing this with Treblinka or maybe another Tiamat album? At any rate, I do enjoy it. Been listening to Death Metal more and more as of late.

Listening to Serenades (Haven't done so in years), then I'll edit this post and vote!

satyricon is so shit that it's not even funny. well it is actually because people praise overly pompous egos like satyr's. if i saw that fag on the street id stuff his shitty albums down his cocksucking throat

you're asking me if i am confusing a tiamat thing with another tiamat thing. no offense, but i know absolutely everything there ever was to know about tiamat and they are probably my favourite band of all time.

sumerian cry is like the absolute fucking ARCHETYPE of what black metal is and was. listen to it again, and when you're at it, listen to things like SAMAEL and MAYHEM and BATHORY? hear how this does NOT SOUND LIKE DRUDKH AND ALCEST (?)

there is one thing that is "death metal" about sumerian cry and that is the guitar tone. nothing else! TOTAL 100% BONAFIDE BLACK METAL, like if i was to tell a person "hey, you know what? this is a genre of music you have never heard. this is black metal." this is a candidate for an album i would play.

edit: oh yeah and don't be fooled by the guitars being tuned to C either, if you want to prove my point you can play these same riffs on a guitar tuned to E and enjoy what sounds right at home next to other first wave/early second wave black metal bands
