this is pretty good (i like the guitar tone) but the name is very nerdy (apparently its from D&D)

Moradin is the chief deity in the dwarven pantheon in the Dungeons & Dragons game and is a member of the default D&D pantheon. Moradin's domains are Creation, Earth, Good, Law, and Protection.[1] His titles include Soul Forger, Dwarffather, the All-Father, and the Creator. He created the first dwarves out of earthen materials and tutored them in dwarven ways.

Holy fuck, I had no idea the D&D universe was that "deep"

but was it a huge, cohesive mythology from the onset or does it become bigger and bigger as various people keep adding up their own scenarios and shit?

Im not too familar with first and second edition. But im pretty sure it's been huge for a couple decades.
There are multiple worlds that have been created for D&D
Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms (Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, Dark Sun....
Im creating my own. Map, gods, history and all. Very cool shit

I went to an MK tournament last week, and there was a group of these nerdlings playing this shit at a table. (D&D, not Moradin) They sat there as a giddy as can be, completely obviously to the other class of dumpeldorks around them. How do you even play that game, or is all just made up on the fly?

Edit - This song is pretty grand. May have to purchase this at some point.

some of it is made up on the fly.
But alot of the time I'll make little things up for them to do.
Right now my group is in a mountain range. So im going to have them fight some Yetis. And maybe fall into a crevice or two. Making climb and jump checks.
Then when they get out of the mountains they are going to run into a human that has been tied up and knocked out.
They will recognize the name because they met his cousin in a southern city. He was one of the guards outside of the castle. Once they heal him, they're going to have to roll play and talk to him about what happened. He'll tell them that halfling bandits did that to him. And I'll come up with some Halfling bandit/thieves guild name. I'll have em roll to see if they know of the name or not.
Then I'll have them run into the halflings and battle them.
Then im thinking they will go to a big city, because it will be really close and they have already been there once.
From there they go north to my monk monestary the Akieshi Vir Honilir. So they can get some magic healing wands or potions, whatever.
along the way they pass mountains, forests, rivers and lakes. So there's all kinds of stuff to do.
And depending on what they do, I'll just have to make up this and that. different shops, inns, taverns and shit. One of the characters is a bard, so he'll probably play in a tavern.
