Jorn Viggo Lofstadt is his guitarist for the show. He's from Pagan's Mind and is more than capable of pulling off anything Lande has ever done.Megawozniak said:On one hand, I'm freaking excited to potentially hear Jorn, Masterplan and Ark stuff. On the other, there's sooooo much material that I'll have to learn to appreciate the set. Is the band playing with him all capable? I know Jorn is, but can the others do some of the tougher stuff? Or is that his actual band?

JORN TO REPLACE NEVERMORE AT PROGPOWER USA VII
booB said:cool... I was just curious, because I've seen times where artists have said, "I'm not allowed to play stuff live from that album [or that band, or whatever] because they hold the rights to it, not me". I wasn't sure if that was bullshit, or not.
jonrpatrick said:Okay guys, when I saw the news release, I was exicted! the replacement for nevermore (a band I'm not terribly fond of)... and it's!! IT'S!!!
uh, who?
Jorn?
Who??!!
So, now I need my metal brother's (and sista's) help! This man seems to have a vast catalogue, and I obviously want to at least be familiar with his stuff before the concert.
What should I get. If I were to get, say, 3 or 4 albums to get familiar with him and his stuff, I need RECOMMENDATIONS!

Sumeet said:I don't think that's a situation where they can't play something, I think it's usually that they don't want to, or, if someone else holds the copyright, they might have a pay a fee for use. But I've only really ever heard people say that in cases where band members left a band acrimoniously, and they want to play that old stuff with their new band, and the songwriter from the original band might still be pissed off at him. But I can't imagine that every cover band playing to 6 people in a bar is sending checks to Van Halen or Aerosmith or Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath after every show... and I doubt the guy from Mundanus Imperium is going to be shaking down Jorn Lande after ProgPower... :Spin:

So tell me... of all his projects, what you guys think Jorn is likely to play the most from? Ark, maybe? Besides his solo stuff... Ooooh I'm so Jorn-illiterate!
I must Prøve the veal!

I thought we were going with someone who hasn't been here before and was a "risk"?? THIS is not any risk that I can see with what I've seen around these parts. Controversial? quote]
I think Nightmare's post right above you answered your question for the most part. It was indeed a safe bet for the hardcores, but the just how much of my audience is hardcore? How many come for the big name headliner alone? '
This is the year when we find out as I catered specifically to this forum for a representation.
