I use a 12 second sine sweep that Alu recommends in that thread I linked to, and have tried with pink/white noise, but found it made a nasty noise tail whenever I stopped playback (and there was no noticeable sonic improvement). Also, I always have "MP Transform" and "Normalize to -.3 dbfs" Vox. Deconvolver checked, and every other box unchecked. That oughta cover it! What are you gonna sample Keith?
i was thinking about sampling my 5150 combo's speakers (most people aren't fans, but i wanna try it.) and my SWR's speakers. I also have some friends stuff i might be able to do at some point (gt75s in one of those new bogner combos, a 1960a and a mesa oversize) I've got a session on the 26th to do some guitar tracking for my friends metal band and i figured i would learn how to do it before then. The room has and SSL an a really nice room, plus i can get some nice pre's like chandlers or something.
I also was curious about recording room impulses. There's a lot of great sounding rooms at my college.
I'm using pro tools, so i was hoping pink noise would work out because it's easy to do in PT. I might just have to bounce the sweep you're talking about and bring it with me.
