Shoegaze

I've found that Shoegaze rock is a better concept than excecution; Among a handful of winners of this genre is Lush who put out several albums but the essential one is Split

Pale Saints! They should have at least been as big as Ride/Lush and the like in the early 90's, IMHO:

The song has a chorus that I find particularly haunting:

My favorite Pale Saints song is Babymaker, and unfortunately, the album version of it isn't uploaded on Youtube (the EP version doesn't really have the massive wall-of-sound necessary to make it work so well). Fortunately, this guy does a fucking AWESOME bedroom cover of it... really beautiful:

Fuck, In-Ribbons is a MUST. Right up there with Loveless and Souvlaki.

Spooky is my favorite, but you just need Spooky and Split...get the ep comp if you can too. Lovelife is gay.

Spooky is great. Gala is fun to listen to but a bit too bright. Lovelife is a little gay, they were definetly looking to break into the brit pop scene. I say if you took off all the bad songs you would have a good deluxe EP, songs like Last Night and the re-recording of Childcatcher (IMO superior to the original) are just amazing tunes.

Coteau Twins are very good..I actually preferred Garlands to most of the other stuff by them I've heard, has an edge of bleakness which isn't in their other stuff, reminds me of The Cure's "Pornography" a lot. This is great though

i'm a huge fan of cocteau twins.
'garland' is an excellent album, but 'treasure' is their milestone in my opinion. just perfect.

I'm seeing Asobi Seksu in a few weeks, need to check them out.

Also, I don't see how How to Measure a Planet is shoegaze.

By the sound of those vid feeds the essence of this genre is dreamy like guitar play and females who sing in a manner your not meant to understand what they are saying.

shoegaze is one of my favorite genres, and it's because of katatonia's last fair deal that i'm such a big fan. that album uses similar concepts, it's no surprise to find out members of the band love this style too.

i made a list of my favorite shoegaze albums, which you guys can check out HERE. if you don't wanna do all that, check these songs out:
