Short rant

It's FOETUS not goddamn FETUS you swine!

The O is there for a reason! Ever hear a brit say Foetus? There's a slight, subtle sorta.. roll (?) to the sound of the "foe" part of the word. Rather than it being FEE-TUSS, which is decidedly harsh sounding, it should roll off the tongue smoothly.
Maybe I am just overly passionate about that word in particular because of my band FOETUS in a jar (and don't you dare spell it fetus in a jar)

I've seen more than once on this forum people who type "defiantly" when they meant "definitely" what the fuck is wrong with you guys? they are totally different words, do you not read your own posts in your head while typing? I do

Dan, you have the key to my heart :D

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ERBS
WITH A HUH
HUH?

HUUUUUUUUUUUUH

Hahaha, channelling the jerk city I see  Though I'm curious as to how exactly one can "roll" the "oe" syllable in "foetus" :loco:

And I definitely pronounce difficult exactly as it's spelled, why would anyone say "difficoolt"? (which if I understand correctly is the equivalent pronunciation of "difficoult")

Well it's not a roll
but like
it just softens it, makes it sound rounder and curvier
I CANT EXPLAIN IT
IT IS THE CORRECT WAYYYYYY though

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGH HUFF HUFF HUFF

yeah we say it as "wood" aswell, however the l does soften the word a little.
It's not somthing you'd notice unless you were listening for it though.

But I meant that the "u" in difficult is not as abrupt as it is in "cult"

Theres a chap I work with who likes to try and say 'genuinely' but always says 'generally' and I correct him every time. I don't care that I end up annoying him more than he annoys me though haha. Even though it's the oldest one in the book, "your gay" and "you left you're wallet here" and shit really grates on my nerves!
