I love this thing, as the 3rd CD contains many of the B-sides from the singles.
Cool poster too.

I love the cover for Live in the UK. (Euro press).
Also, the Keepers II / Judas TWO ON ONE, which is Russian
(And most likely a bootleg!)

How bad is Deep Purple - Slaves and Masters?
I NEVER bothered to check that one out, as it is always hailed as a bad Rainbow album.
(due to Joe Lynn Turner being on vox)

You can usually find it cheap, even new, but is it worth it?

I like it but yeah it's pretty much an 80's Rainbow album.
I'd say check it out.

Yep, it's got Ronnie singin "Fever Dreams" and "Rainbow in the dark" with Deep Purple (minus Ritchie of course ).

No, though I have the more known songs from those albums on some of the various best of's, they have.

As I said, I have only recently gotten into them.

Growing up, I had Perfect Strangers and the Book of Talysen (SP??) on cassette. Just never really further explored them, until recently.

Indeed. I have it and always used the screen saver for my computer. I really liked it that had all the pictures like Electric Heart and stuff.

I highly suggest you get Machine Head asap. The Book Of Taliesyn is ok, a bit psychedelic sounding but Ian Gillan wasn't in the band yet.

Also the live version of "Child in Time" from the "Made in Japan" album will give you chills down your spine. When Gillan hits those high notes you understand why he rules.

I take a lot of pride in what I have, like I said what I posted only scratches the surface of everything I have. If I ever get a better camera I'd like to get some pictures of everything and show the stuff off but it'd be pages of posts. Everybody here has some kick ass shit!!!

Dude Burn is probably my favorite Deep Purple album, it's incredible.

Glenn Hughes gets better with age.

Agreed. The last I heard of him was on Tony Iommi's "Fused" album in '05. He sounds just like he did 30 yrs ago.

He sounds better imo.

I don't really like his voice on older stuff, particularly on Seventh Star, but on The DEP Sessions he sounds pretty damn good, and on Fused he's amazing.

Yeah, he really kicks ass on Fused. On Seventh Star and The DEP Sessions, he's good, but not as standout.
