Slayer=Overrated thrash band

I guess I'm in the minority as well. I only like a couple Slayer songs (I believe they were off "Seasons in the Abyss" but it's been so long since I heard them). I don't think they "suck", they just aren't to my particular taste.

Slayer is a solid thrash band, altough probably my least favorite of the big four. And yes, Reign in Blood is WAAAAAAY overrated...it's the SAME FUCKING THING, over and over. Give me the unutterably awesome Seasons In the Abyss any day. It's a shame that after Seasons, they got lazy and started doing monotonous punkish pseudo-thrash. At least Metallica tried something new instead of getting caught in a rut.

I would have to agree that slayer is overrated, Yes they do rock and are very metal, but overrated. I think that you guys are shittin to much on RIB which is a fucking sick album. Angel and rain aren't the only awesome songs on there, What about epidemic or post mortem? they are very over rated but there is some thing you must understand, they fucking pioneered the sound that they have and thats why they get all the recognition. another thing about slayer is that their lead is horrible, it just sucks. Its about the agression.

@Rusted_in_peace50 - I must say I totally agree with you, RIP is better than anything that slayer ever put out, I think RIP is in the top five best metal albums.

atleast Kirk Hammet realized his limitations and got one early on.

BTW: for the record, GHUA sucks.

Well, Slayer belongs to my faves, not for technique (there I have Death, atheist, Cynic and so on)but for the sick/twisted - agressive atmosphere they create in their songs..especially Seasons in the Abyss.
