Metallica.

I used to love the First Four, but now I can't imagine even wanting to listen to them.

Other than Seasons in the Abyss, Slayer really failed to engage and grip in any way. Overrated.

I was three years old then, but hey. :loco:

Show No Mercy>Kill Em' All
Reign in Blood>Master of Puppets
Seasons in the Abyss>...And Justice For All

I still need Hell Awaits and South of Heaven damnit. Ride the Lightning is Metallica's best, so they'd have a chance there.

Metallica... like has been said, Slayer has been better on average but Metallica in the early days is some extremely memorable stuff.

Slayer ... just for the sheer live intensity + Dave Lombardo + Reign in Blood + Hell Awaits.

Slayer produced 2 masterpieces, Metallica produced zero, zilch, nada, nope, nuh-uh, next. 4 real close ones, but not even Ride the Lightning makes the cut.

So duh, Slayer.

That Simpsons episode where Kang and Kodos replace Bob Dole and Bill Clinton in the '96 election, it's one of their campaign speeches. :D

Metallica, easy.

While Slayer is good, they're not memorable. Reign in Blood is great, but other than that, every album has just been slightly above average (with the exception of Undisputed Attitude, Diabolus and God Hates, which just sucked).

Metallica just rules. Period.

Slayer are heavier, faster, less pretentious, more fucking EVIL!

Metallica got boring after Mustaine quit. Mechanix > Four Horsemen.
