think about it.

songs done by peeps on the forum, each pay $50-100, maybe a 2 disc thing (no songs that have been previously released), like 24-30 songs/bands/peeps ($1,500-$3,000 could make a pretty nice CD package; maybe a sweet digipack). sell 'em on the forum and on amazon or something.

maybe specify it's gotta be metal in its various forms from classic to grindcore.

not sure how peeps would make the cut - maybe by votes (if so, I'd probably lose, but that's how it goes).

might be tough to coordinate as well. not sure who would do the art - maybe a forum member as well, who'd get a share of the profits? maybe the coordinator would get a share as well for his/their time? that wouldn't be me by the way, too busy.

just a thought. there's a lot of good stuff on here; would be cool to hear 'em all back to back in WAV form as a comp package.

discuss.

Selling on Amazon costs 60 % of the set price, though.

ouch. I guess I never realized - The Main Man would probably not want his name on something like this without permission; hence it might not even be able to be named appropriately without such permission!

We'd have to call it "Skrollkeeper" heehee

I had the same idea a few months back but dismissed it. Too much work that would have to go into it, as you said... coordination and such.
I wouldn't want to sell it on Amazon or anything, just have a copy on my shelf for admiration and a nice feeling that it'd be something we've created with

united board power!

I'm in.

I think that if maybe one or two people were involved with the actual mixing/producing aspect (song arrangement and such), then everyone else can just simply send in ideas (whether it be riffs, basslines, drumlines, vocals, etc)

I don't think that it would be too hard to organize...

so now I'm a little confused ...

is the idea:

A - to make a compilation cd of all the voted for players/bands that are part of this forum

or

B - to have people submit song ideas, vote for the best ones, and then multiple others add to the song idea ... and then when all is said and done, someone here mixes and masters

¯\(°_o)/¯

either way, I'm down for getting involved somehow ... I have a whole cd of unreleased Shadowdance music just waiting for someone to hear it
