So dudes...... I cut my hair.

I've had long hair for 95% of my life, so it doesn't get on my nerves at all. I cut it short one time and immediately grew it back out haha

... and I don't have a really bad receding hairline I'll keep it long. Im pretty sure I'm going to cry a little inside when it finally goes!
Thats the most sad moment in every mans life. I remember that morning when I stood infront of the mirror and said to myself, man, there is no point, your hair is going. And I had long hair 80% of my time.
Luckily I got all that behind me when I was 27-ish. The upside was that since I cut it, my hair stopped receding.

Had really thick waist length hair til I was about 22, got in to an elevator with a mirrored ceiling, noticed it was thinning at the front, immediately went and shaved it all off. Been 12 years but I still miss it sometimes.

I remember when I had to cut it, I went to the local hairdresser, and said the usual "hello it would be for a haircut", she said "okay I have no one before you, get installed. (...) So how long do you want it cut ?", and I answered "I want to cut it all". She looked at me a way that I understood meant she had never heard that, considering it was quite long and this doesn't happen often. 3mn later I had no long hair anymore, she asked me if she could keep it for whatever reason (i think it was to make real hair extensions or something like that cause she said my hair had good qualities in essence, which most hairdressers often tell me after they touch it, eventhough globally tbh it didn't look good compared to many other people or at least it didn't suit me so much) and that was it !

Here's something to make you twitch; my hair as around about 60cm long at the moment, last time I went for a trim I was offered $1200 for it all to be used as hair extentions. My hair is no longer the bi-product of me being slack and enjoying a good 'mill at gigs; it is a goddamn INVESTMENT.

Aha yeah I suppose I could have earned some money with it but oh well I had no idea :) It was shorter though, something like 40 I would say. Maybe it could have paid my bills for the month !

Listening to metal = metal
Caring about image = girly pop bitch

+million. I have short hair and dress semi-nice, I usually look the furthest thing from metal. One of my favorite things is being at a show getting funny looks from all these camofag slayer shirt dudes, and later on slaying it on stage while they kill each other in the pit. You don't have to look "metal", you just have to bring the riffz and the squealz, unless you care about looking metal walking through the mall, in which case you're a camofag slayer shirt dude. (no offense intended to any camo'd out slayer dudes on this forum)

Also true about stage presence, it is a totally different game with short hair

Out of a metal crowd, female attention is proportional to the following (haven't done maths in a long time though):

L included in IR+ being the length of hair in cm
alpha included in IR+ your overall sex appeal in cm^-1
beta = 1/alpha (for the purpose of units coherency)
FA(L) the function which at L associates the fraction of female attention in units :

L<1
-- FA(L)=alpha*L
L>1
-- FA(L)=beta/L

Question is, do you really want to seem more attractive to a high number of women or rather attractive to a smaller number of women but those who are more likely to have similar views and interests? From a social-psychological point of view if you "look metal" (have long hair / black clothes / bandshirts / etc etc) you are less attractive for the average women, yet a lot more attractive for women who are into that kind of man. Besides, the way you look is actually the least important factor of all with women - that's an evolutional/biological and psychological fact. Allthough if you feel more confident with short hair that makes you more attractive to women again so I guess it is related somehow.

Seriously, if some chick doesn't like me because of my hair, my cloth or whatever, I am not interested in her at all anyways.. so yeah.
(Note: I don't really look "metal" myself and have no long hair either so I am not saying this to make myself look better or anything, just my opinion)
I think it's sad if someone changes his/her looks only to look more attractive to mainstream people. If you think you look better with short(er) hair, that's cool. But fuck other people's opinion.

^ word.

I hadn't taken into account who would think what about my appearance when I decided to get the mop chopped. the general reception has been "the bitches be up on my shit." Which is good, I like the bitches. I've heard that it makes me look older, which I can dig. And I'm very confident with myself as it is, the new look just adds to that.
