Nyet. He had vocal chord surgery around the Superunknown tour. Hence why his range is so different in Down On The Upside.

Well, that's true of course, the sheer volume of music he's made makes it difficult, but still, I find myself hoping he'd be a bit less playing-it-safe sometimes.
