I found these
After about 20 more min. Nevermore too the stage, with an odd soundcheck I might add, which turned into a pseudo performance. So finally, they kick off their set with "Next in Line" which was nicely done, their sound was very tight and well produced, and Warrel Dane seemed to really get into his singing, the drummer nailed all of those odd fills just like on the albums, and the band played very well throughout the night. After the first song you hear "Ophindian" kick in, then right into "Beyond Within" which was simply excellent, and one of the highlights. The pit got going during some of the faster more violent parts of the songs, although Nevermore wasn't quite like moshing to Arch Enemy. Dane tried to excite the crowd more, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. Bassist Jim Sheppard was playing with a cast on his left index finger (which had "pain" written on it) I totally respect that, as I'm sure it wasn't easy, I think they said he got it slamed in a bus door. Nevermore played through all of "Dreaming Neon Black" (except "Forever" was not played) in order with some narratives inbetween, a couple through the PA and a couple through Dane, although I don't feel this worked too well in this setting, it didn't really detract from the show. Highlights included "Beyond Within", "The Fault of the Flesh", "PoisonGodMachine" and "No More Will" all of which totally rocked, and although I really like "Dreaming Neon Black" on the CD, it seemed to lack something live, they had the female vox come in over the tape, but I think the problem was the atmosphere didn't hold as well. At some point people start crowd surfing onto stage, and Dane told the security guards to let 'em, and he seemed to enjoy it, one girl got up there several times and was groping on him. Others kept getting up and headbanging with him, which he seemed to enjoy, it as quite a sight. After about an hour, their set ended because they club said they couldn't play any longer and after much begging from the audience they decided to do an encore. There was some sound problems at first, and the crowd chanted "fix it Pete" (the sound guy's name) and the sound finally got working and they did an extremely kick ass version of "Seven Tongues of God", it absolutely rocked and the place went crazy, moshing and crowd surfing, actually I'd say the place more resembled WWF's Royal Rumble, at some point way too many people tried to crowd surf in an area too small and a pile of bodies ended up on the floor, but a good time was had by all. Unfortunately they didn't touch the debut, and I lost my watch in the pit, sigh...Great show, be sure to check 'em out if they come near you.
Nevermore came on at 9, their sound was flawless too. The band seemed to be in a really good mood and were excited to be playing. Warrel was kinda funny saying some screwy things inbetween songs interacting with the audience, the only thing I distinctly remember was him keep laughing off some guy in the front asking him to play "Seven Tongues of God" and he kept saying, 'you know we're gonna play that last', it was pretty cool. The crowd was totally into them, the set list was "Narcosynthesis", "We Disintegrate", "Inside Four Walls", "Fault of the Flesh", "The River Dragon Has Come", "The Sacrament", "Sounds of Silence" and of course "Seven Tongues of God", which once again brough the house down, a pit broke out during most of the songs. Warrel asked people to come up on stage and they obliged. They would have played longer but the guitarist filling in for Calvert didn't know any more songs. Loomis did all the leads too, and the man has chops, I was impressed. I enjoyed this performance more than the last time I saw them. They played about 40 min. though
After some more delay Nevermore started playing while the curtains were openning and before the house music or lights went out. It started with Warrel flipping off Van, the crowd was just hanging out around the bar too, it was wierd. They sounded really good though, and Warrel look frustrated because he wasn't getting any sound in the monitors. He invited tons of people up onto stage throughout the set as usual, it was definitely cool. Warrel stage dove a couple times, asking the crowd to make certain they caught him. During "The Heart Collector" he asked all the women in the audience to get up on stage it was pretty entertaining. I think right before the song started (maybe it was a different one, I can't remember) they had to get Loomis his own monitor on stage and they had to restart the song, he seemed pretty pissed. The set lists was incredibly disappointing, they ignored the first album completely again. Played all of DHIADW except "Insignificant" (and the intro to the title track). They also played "Next In Line", "Death of Passion", "Beyond Within" and of course "Seven Tongues of God" (which was kinda sloppy, along with "Sounds of Silence"). The other guitarist played the riff to "South of Heaven" for a short bit too. Warrel also chose to just growl out verses every now and then too. They only played for about 1 hr 15 min. as well, which was disappointing. Not a bad show, but it left much to be desired too. Surprisingly it seemed a bunch of people left during their set.
