RTR is definately progressing, nad bringing new soudns to metal, but I like their older music better.

but in all honesty, i don't think R2R is that bad.. it has it's really bad moments... and it's got it's really good moments. I'm sure the new album will have a lot more of these bad moments though... we'll see

And thats the problem right there. All of you people are already too sure that the albums gonna suck, your gonna go into it thinking that way, and your almost automatically gonna hate it. When listening to a new album you must focus on the good and forget about the bad.

As others have stated, you might like it better over there. This board is more volatile. People have their opinions and tend to harp on the ones that stick up for the "newer" In Flames here, but that's ok =). Since you are an avid In Flames fan and have more praise than criticism, I think you'd like it over at hmas.org. They are fun-loving In Flames fans. I am not knocking either board.
