I remember when my neighbor killed herself in the neighborhood I grew up in. Her 12 year old daughter came home from school and found a note on the bathroom door saying something to the effect of, "Don't come in here. Mommy hurt herself bad. Get help.". When they came and broke the door down, they discovered that she had shot herself in the head hours prior to her daughter's arrival. Oddly enough, her husband seemed very cold and matter-of-fact like after the whole event. Almost as though he were expecting, or even embracing it. Oh well.
Anyway, I don't think it's entirely fair to judge a suicider. You have no idea what's running through their heads the moment they decide life couldn't get any worse. Maybe if you were under the same circumstances as they are, you would choose self-defeat as well.

God! Thanks, but I hope it didn't sound like I was supporting the idea of suicide. I really do think it's a selfish act. I mean, look at the example I gave. That poor girl has to grow up without her mother, and she also has to grow up knowing what her mother did to herself. Plus, she has to deal with a dickhead of a father all on her own (I think she's about 16 now). I just meant to say that people's minds all work in differant ways, and some people are just not stable enough to always make rational decisions. And it's when it seems that the bottom has fallen out on these people lives that they do such crazy things. Everyone should pay attention to each other a little more and try and maybe get them help before they go and do themselves in, instead of chastising them automatically. I know it seems like a lot of people do this only for attention, but there has to be some reason why they go to such extremes to get noticed.cedarbreed said:

She really did seem to be a happy and well adjusted woman. I can't imagine what made her do this to herself and her daughter. In hindsight, she was probably having serious problems with her husband and just hid them too well. Like I said, even right after it happened he didn't seem to care. Looked almost as though he was having a hard time holding back a smile. He was the same when his mom died. Come to think of it, I did once witness him explode in a fit of anger at a gas station over something really stupid like the receipt printer on the pump not working and taking it out on the clerk.Dhatura said:Oh, fuck, it's all too fucked up.

DOn't you think there are situations when there's nothing more positive to experience, only pain and suffering blablah so then it's really best for yourself to say ' STOP ', just to be happy. yeah, to die to be happy. Look at these people who are suffering from severe lethal disease, who have no chance of being cured and who can't do anything but laying all day long in an hospital bed, enduring unbearable aches etc. Don't you think it's good for them to commit suicide if they WANT TO and if they still can do it of course ( i'm refering to the recent affair that happened some weeks ago with the guy who was in a vegetative state).

hey i dont remember saying suicide is for puffs. i agree with bastet, if some people cant carry on and kill themselves then how can you judge/blame etc. what is very gay tho is goth girls slicing their wrists then pulling a sad face saying 'i tried to kill myself' in gothic pubs, or people thinking its glamour and that. if you really want to kill yourself, its very easy to succeed.
