Alright, what summerjob did you get?

I first thought I was going to be unemployed this summer, but I just got a call 20 minutes ago that I will be doing soundengineering at the Silja Line cruiserboat this summer (I did that last summer too and apparently they liked what I did). The best thing is that the salary and co-crew is nice and you get free accommodation, food, gym, sauna, laundry, loads of free new movies to watch etc :rock:

I go to school full time, I work all year round. Fuck people that don't.

Yep, in Finland it's almost impossible to be a full-time student AND working, unless you do a night job - but then your grades and learning will suffer heavily due to lack of full night's sleep. This summer our school is supposed to arrange a job for everyone - it's a mandatory and a large part (almost 20 %) of our degree, and has to be from our field (IT) - but the dates keep getting pushed back :erk: Of course, the job will be almost unpaid with just the student support money from the state (122 euros per month in my case), but hell it's at least something and you get to graduate on time and find a real job that pays :) If we don't get the job, then our graduation will be delayed by one year and for that "extra" year you don't get any student support any more. There is, of course, the chance that during that extra year, you find a practical training place that hires you even though you don't have a degree yet - IF the practical training is the only thing stopping you from graduating... So there's still a chance :)
 
I don't have a summer job because I plan to spend 99% of this summer wasted on varying substances.

Yeah, those were too much for me. I thought "not this shit anymore" and quit. I was just halfway through, but my motivation just disappeared on the whole thing. Never looked back though :). Was going for the EE degree.

Oh man I love your style, I'll visit you one day before I head over to the states! You have my fucking word on that... although I am drunk while writing this... but still, you have it! :D


As for me, I will be working at a theme park this summer. FUCK YEAH! Not very good pay but I'll atleast have enough money by the end of the summer to get my fucking driver's license.

And yeah, I've totally been a summer job kinda guy, cuz my parents are kind enough (and financially able enough) to pay for my schooling so I can focus strictly on learning and grades! (and making lots of gear shootouts, impulses, and clips :D) Or "were kind enough", I should say, cuz I just finished college yesterday! (though I don't officially graduate until I take this stupid summer computer course at my local community college; I totally forgot it was required to graduate until like 1 month ago, so I'm taking it this summer and will have my diploma mailed to me in August :bah: )

Hell yea man, I need this... it's been a while since I was as relaxed as I'm right now. Chillin' to some music... ahem well, actually headbanging with my newly cut short hair to Sybreed but anyway. This wine went down fast, usually I can't drink a whole bottle without having a hard time towards the end because I'm not a wine guy but now I have to slow myself down in order to have some left for later. It's not even dark yet here in Sweden!

What if you go to school in a different place from where you live during the summer? If I wanted to keep a job year-round where I'm going to college, It'd be a 3 hour commute, each way, just to get to work.

But I agree, if you're going to a CC and doing the 'summer job' thing... bogus as fuck.


That said, my job this summer is at a local movie theater... I get to hang out in an air conditioned building and watch all the free movies I want.
 
starbucks is where people come in thinking that their order is the most precious most important thing in the world. yes douche ass fucks sit in here on their lapshits all day. Also particularly in southern california Hispanics come IN great numbers ordering only frapaccino's..and are very annoying "CARMELLA FRUP_U_SINO" but they just want one.. they want 7 of the biggest.

its ok though. one time i walked into jack in the box and some dude had just ordered 40 fucking jumbo jacks.... fuckkk that!

i fucking hate frapaccino's .

Well, you could always get a job where you go to school, like so many people I know did/do - not like I'm one to talk, just sayin'!

Well, basically I'm just sick of kids that somehow ALWAYS have money, but never work, and they play it off like they are "really" trying hard in school so they can't "burden" themselves with a job cause they need to study.
It's a fucking scam.

AND THEN! When these kids DO get jobs, they quit after a month or so because they "don't like it." Like what the fuck???
NO ONE FUCKING likes it!
