Question: Why does the title have to be centered? It seems like people are assuming things here.

Here's the thing about centering and not centering. If a designer means to keep something off center in a layout, he/she should keep it far away from the center. Otherwise it's gonna look like they screwed up, like they accidentally shifted it a few millimeters off to the left or right. It's good to (horizontally) keep an element centered, to the left, or the right, as it maintains the principle of visual balance.
Okay, end of design lesson. Let's just enjoy the speculation of the possible visuals this monster might have!

It would appear that one of the early drafts of the cd cover has been leaked to at least one website; the band hasn't had a chance to okay any final artwork, so what you see floating around out there is NOT the final cd cover art.
Jason is done recording his parts, & the rhythm tracks & other guitar parts should be done by next week. The band's aiming to have the music ready for mixing by mid September; MJR says that things are moving right along, & kept our conversation short so that he could get back to it.
More news when there's more to share.."

Well this leak may not be legit, but, I still was awestruck by this cover when I saw it. Even if its not what the cover will look like it will prob look almost the same but tweaked. I think it is so far the best SyX cover I have seen. It may look better as a painting but at the same time making it in the form of a painting could ruin it too because it would take a really good painting of it to make it really stand out.

3. Regarding this forum's alleged "sucking." Well, I think it certainly needs some big time help. Banning people as an answer to a little controversy certainly won't help insure a diversity of opinions, perspectives, viewpoints, etc. Ursut reference the "top 5 girls" thread, which was one of, if not the most popular thread for weeks. Go read Teen People for that info. On the flipside, a band like Circus Maximus comes here with an album update thread and it gets redirected to the vast wasteland that has become the "official band/project promotional thread." It was presented no differently than if someone independent from the band had posted it to keep us here all informed. Just one example, but it seems this forum is losing a bit of the integrity it once had.

between the gazillions of pics.
I was kind of surprised that Mike's post was diverted, I love those guys,
and look forward to meeting Mike at Prog Power. The thing is, soon as you
let one band through, everybody else will use that as a precedent, no
matter what the stature of the band is, to post outside of the designated
area. Maybe that "post your band stuff" topic should be cleaned out. I
don't want any bad forum blood between the 2 bands' fans, or between
the bands themselves, as I kinda think they're mutual admirers of each others
work. I can not confirm, or deny this.
Finally, I want to say this: This forum's success depends not only on the mods, but on the people who contribute to it as well. It's not an open forum, there are a few rules, but nothing outrageously strict, IMO. This isn't just a forum for fans of Symphony X, it's Symphony X's forum for its fans. There is a difference! Without calling ANYBODY out, you've got to admit that at times, this place has it's moments not unlike a kiddie sugar rush at a daycare center. I'm all for having fun, and don't want to piss on anyones parade, but by God, there are some people here who need to grow up a little. Not a lot, just a little would be a HUGE improvement

Dubya....we're ancy over them because we're promised them! When the originaly announced the album, we wheretold we'd get some photos and shit l8ter on! Its not that we DEMAND or NEED the updates, but some of us (fans of the band, of the forums) where told we'd recieve that stuff, and they still wait anxiously! This being why their is so many where's the updates threads? + Jax bless her soul, gives us small awsome tidbit updates and says we'll get an update soon. So those anxious ones wait even more anxiously because she has put fourth the idea of an upcomming update! So in the end its just headstrung, anxious peeps waiting for their updates that they where told about...if they where never told about em they'd probably be less naggy!
(Plz don't take this as a bash towards you guys...its far from, just trying to paint a picture for yah about the guys who 'complain' or 'ask' about the updates alot or mystery's surrounding the new album!)

1. Uh, I don't spend hours a day sitting at my computer begging for updates so I have nothing to say about this. I'm just kind of disappointed that I can't flirt with Ursut anymore.

3. I'm with rockyracoon on this one. It is unfair that threads made about Pain of Salvation, Evergrey and Devin Townsend remain open while threads about Circus Maximus (great material that you guys linked us to btw, thank you) get locked. The argument "once one band does it then they all will" is weak in this case. The band promotion thread is more for "hey this is my friend's band, check it out" type of stuff; not for bands that are pretty much well-established in this community. Is there a double standard we are unaware of? How much street cred do you need for your threads to stay open on this forum? I think you guys do a great job at keeping this forum a decent place for people to come and talk about the band they love, but at the same time there are inconsistencies.
