i don't think that her arguments can be considered wrong, they are a view of actually happens (people having pre-concepts when they see a employee candidate full of tattoos). But your argument was so slashing it was too funny not to comment on :lol:
 
leprosy, dont you think you wil regret not having a tatoo more than having a tatoo.Like shakespear said... beter to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all :D im not saying go out as a full body tatoo and pierce your anul tube. wheres the piercing thread, I think piercings are gay as fuck, I can go with those small nose studs and belly shit, but like stabing your mouth with 10 rings and have a huge nose ring with 20 in a eyebrow is taking it way 2 far.

Same with me!!! There were moments when I thought "Man, was I crazy when I got that Metal Salieri one!" but I don't regret getting it -because of exactly those reasons.
 
im all for peircings and tattoos within context, by that i mean in a professional athmosphere, they can be hidden, cause lets face facts people not everybody is into tattoos and piercings and all that, that being said, i do plan on getting a few tattoos (half sleeve at least, a reaper on my left shoulder, and an angel on my right) and as for "meaningless tattoos" thats the dumbest shit ever, i have a friend who got japanese kanji on his forearms without knowing what they said, when he came over, my cousin starting laughing his ass off, and asked why did you have "i like anal sex" tattooed on you? he said he thought it looked cool.... :tickled:
 
And as for the job aspect, I agree with panzerKunt ("moving papers and licking asses"). Personally, my goal is to study art (when I'm done with this distance learning course that I'm doing now) and become a professional painter. Yes I know that's hard and most of those ppl don't earn that much money; I'll need a day job as a cleaner or waitress -but hey, art is what I always wanted to do! I won't be rich, but I will be myself and express myself. I cerrtainly have different views and perspectives than Bob and Kasha, but I can respect theirs -hey, to each their own!:)
 
I have one tattoo. I decided a while back that I will wait until I am older to get another tattoo. I am planning to graduate with a Fine Arts degree, and work as a photographer or jeweler, and in that field of work, having one or two tattoos is acceptable.

But I think it smart for a person to wait and see what career they may want in the future before they go and get a sleeve. Having an extreme tattoo will give you a disadvantage, and you may not get hired for a job you really want because the employer may not like them, especially if it's exposed.

I just think it is up to the person and the career path they want to take. I see tattoos as memories and even though you may regret it when you are 80 years old, it really won’t matter to me because I will probably die soon after, and I think I can deal with it for a few years, haha. :tickled:

ps-I have a tattoo of cherub wings on my back. I got it a few days after I turned 18, and I have one regret... I wish I would have gotten them bigger and more detailed :tickled:

Yea my thoughts exactly.. I think I'll just get one at a spot I can hide well.. like on my shoulder or something.
 
lol why do you ppl see a sleave as such a problem? do alot of interviewers actualy ask if you have a tattoo? I say cover it up with a long sleave shirt and then start your first day with a tank top lol!!

heh, this is why i would never want to get a tattoo for example on my belly. I heard of this girl, she got a tiger-tat somewhere on her belly and below. anyway, some day she got pregnant, and then the tiger's head suddenly got 3 times the size of what it had been before. rest of the tattoo stayed normal. gosh, a tiger with a hydrocephalus!

A lot of white collar jobs see it as a stupid decision, and apply that toward the business realm. And white shirts don't really cover it, they just filter it well, it still shows through. I know.
 
^I'm not white collar at all (but i resperct ur decisions etc as i said before dude!!!) and i,m -surprise,surprise- drunk.
Im justa troubled drunken working to lower middle class chick...stress on lower.
 
you wear it during your work hours but i guess you would't have to if you had no customer invlovment.
