The Behemoth Thread

I haven't heard their BM material, but I from "Satanica" and "Demigod" I hold this band to a very high level. I'll be picking up ZKC very soon.

Still, noone has listed any better bands in a similar style.

Morbid Angel
Deicide
Vader

These bands already exist, why the hell waste time and money on a pale imitation?

They're good at polished death metal but go overboard on the drums, i don't think the drummer is as good as the guitarists or anything special. Not really originally but I would prefere Zos Kia Cultus over anything by vader, decapitated, and nile. I expected the follow up to Zos to be much much better. I think that might have caused me to loose interest in the band fast.

I guess both. Polish death metal bands seem to be the most polished in sound when it comes to death metal. I guess this is their trait and sound. You know how sweden death metal bands record at sunlight with more raw natural sounding instruments, same with finland bands with production, then poland bands like the really digital up to date with technology recordings, then you have a lot of norwegian bands that like garage sound and what not,etc...

I mean, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that the classic Swedish, American and Norwegian sounds were established 15-20 years ago, while Poland has only come to the forefront in the last 5-6 years, could it?

Because in your world Sunlight Studios is the only recording studio in Sweden.

Indeed. Sunlight studios is the greatest thing on earth. I think of it as probably being a heaven while being in a studio called sunlight recording guitar that kills grandma's.

bzzzzzzzzzzzz, bzzzzzzz, bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, bzzz

Indeed.

I want my guitar to sound like it's tripping/mixed with chainsaws like on bloodbath -ressurection through carnage. I bet live some people would really get annoyed when your guitar is so distorted like that. My goel is too have the most annoying shitty guitar tone ever and just crank it so loud.

They're an amazing band; one of my favorites. I have Thelema 6 through Demigod. Demigod is by far my favorite; a brutal death masterpiece. I can't wait for their next album.

Sounds like death metal to my ears. I guess some black metal influences if you have be real picky, although by Demigod, those influences have diminished to an almost unrecognizable point. Doesn't really matter to me anyway; damn good music.

Demigod is death metal, but not Brutal Death. (not even close), Brutal Death is more along the lines of Deeds of Flesh. Behemoth and Deeds of Flesh share almost no qualities except for being metal.
