the best and worst moments in metal

Why are you so happy that a good guitar player that alot of people liked died, I dont fucking get it, I hate Korn but if Jonathan Davis died I wouldnt be happy. Dimebag was one of my favorite guitar players and I think its bullshit that you would say things like that just to say them. You are a piece of shit, truly, I have never meant it more on this forum. You shouldn't even have anything to say back because you know you are full of shit you fucking asshole. Comments like that piss me off, I think its funny when someone makes racist comments most of the time, but when cunts like you say shit like that it reallly personally agitates me, if you were around me in person and said that I would stab you in your fucking throat.

im not happy that he was murdered but it's just making the best of a bad situation (his existence in the first place)

if pantera had never existed we wouldnt have pantera fans and that would be a good thing

Polarity, lets not get off topic, Im just going to say "shut the fuck up" and give my best and worst moments
Best-Metallica's Kill em All being released, Judas Priest Releasing Sad Wings instead of another album that sounded like "rocka-rolla", Megadeth getting back together
Worst-Dimebags Death, Chucks Death, Cliffs Death, Randy's Death, Immortal Breaking up, Metallica not breaking up in 1988 like they should have

Demolition sucked but the music on Jugulator was not bad. Owens just writes the most corny lyrics ever. He probably watches monster trucks while writing lyrics.

Best metal moments: Black Sabbath,Cathedral,Mercyful Fate forming,Halford rejoining JS,Ozzy finally retiring,Chuck Billy recovering from Cancer, Euronymous getting killed in his underwear, varg going to jail for 20 years, churches burned down, when faust killed a fagget in the woods(don't like emperor). Only Halford can be a dick licker.

Worst: most of metal, can't even explain. People that think they are more metal than everyone, Chucks death, Slayer and Sepultura selling out sucking boners while they should be making music, MA starting to suck because Trey would rather play playstation in his mothers house.

agreed. dimebag was an important factor in the evolution of metal and influenced lots of people, some of which probably went on to form bands that some of you do appreciate.

I highly doubt it. Dimebag Darrell did not revolutionize metal, contrary to now common belief.

The Crown fell apart soon after they changed their name from Crown of Thorns.

Common now people, the Black album is not THAT bad, it can be a great listen at appropriate times, and Load is a very solid blues hard rock album. See the thing with Metallica is you have to just understand that they completely changed their approach and writing style of music, so you just have to take it for what it is. the only problem with my argument here is St Anger which is probably one of the worst moments in Metal along with all those deaths of great musicians that everyone mentioned. Best = birth of Gene Hoglan...........end of list

You have to realize that just because it's Metallica making the music, that doesn't make the music better than it actually is. Their self-titled album isn't that good. ...And Justice For All isn't that good. Half of Master Of Puppets sucks. Ride The Lightning has some crap on it. Kill 'Em All is their only release that I listen to more than once a year, if that. And most of that is NWOBHM ripoffs and Mustaine riffs.

The s/t is better, more focused, diverse than 'And Justice For All' imo. Metallica nailed the song writting not draging the songs pointlessly even though some are 5,6 minutes. Perfect ammount of tempo changes like on 'kill 'em all' even though both albums are very different. The production and guitars sound incredible. Very clear thick resonant guitar tone from james, easily the best tone he's gotten for a metallica album. The riffs, solos are tasteful. I bet If James did not burn his arm Metallica could have put a cd out sometime in 93 progressing from the s/t. It could have been nice still remaing metal instead of going for the bluesy southern rock vibe like on Load. I enjoy bluesy southern music but Metallica does it poorly in my opinion. Load,Reload are still not even close to being crappy as St. Anger or 90's Megadeth. St. Anger is plain awful garbage. You can tell with that album that load, reload were not exactly low points for them nor were they struggling as a band. You can tell from the new DVD they should not have done another album.

Jason Newsted also has some nice basslines on the s/t. He's a great bassist and it's cool they finally excepted him.

Best: Grunge movement kills off glam/hair metal in early '90s.
Bay Area thrash.
Florida death metal.
Norwegian black metal.
English doom metal.

Worst: New England metalcore boom/"New Wave of American Heavy Metal"

and to whoever said the crown breaking up was a good thing die. the reasons for their end could happen to any metal band.

what is a good band pantera influenced?

If Pantera would have never existed, although I don't care for the music much anymore since I moved on to, imo, better music, I would have never started listening to metal nor would I have started playing the guitar. I would have been a little trendy bitch with my Staind & Destiny's Child albums. So I am forever greatful to Dime and the crew. :worship:

Many people who plague us all with their mediocre taste in music and mediocre songs that they've written? I'll take life without that destructive influence, thank you very much.

I'm guessing half the stuff people have written they didnt actually exp it when it happened, for me chucks death would have been the worse, but i didn't know about Death untll 2004. But learning about it after hearing death and thinking that the man behind it all was still alive made me feel aloss.
