The Crown was a good band.

Hell fucking yeah!

Worst: Chuck Shuldiner dying, The Crown breaking up shortly after Lindstrand rejoined the band, Emperor breaking up, the whole Iron Maiden fiasco from the other night, though it may turn out to be a pretty awesome thing for REAL Metal, Goregrind and Metalcore

Best: Varg killing Euronomyous, Iron Maiden telling the corporate mainstream music culture to go fuck itself, The Crown and Emperor going out on a good note, Pantera breaking up

Worst: Death of Quorthon

Best: The hopefully-soon break-ups of Opeth and Children of Bodom

All praises for mentioning Quorthon

But whats this shit with Opeth, where is everyone actually coming from when they criticise Opeth, the new album is getting good approval and the bands far from turning gay like dream theater.

I haven't heard the new album to back this up, but most of you that are quick to criticise probably havn't either, its as if you come on here to bag metal most of the time rather then discuss the positives that you find in it. I am saying, untill it's apparent that the band has gone to shit then don't judge it as you would a sell out nu-metal band fresh off the fag platter.

Why do you assume that people are criticising them solely on the basis of the new album? I don't like most of their material, and I'd wager it's the same for many of the regulars here.

Ever since they went to Roadrunner people have created there oppinion soley around that, even in terrorizer they mentioned the internet bullshit forced upon opeth because of it. This is the reason for my assumption. And even if people dont like them in the first place which is alright, because we all have our own oppinions', that still doesn't answer why someone would want them to end out of all the bands you could mention.

Being an Opeth fanboy, the new album blows. So does everything they've done since 1998.
