So I automatically think, that "this person has a personality like (insert name of former/other friend)" which can be positive or negative; and it turns out to be like that very often.
So I wonder, do they really behave and (re-)act the same because my theory (that there are just some similar & likeminded people in the world and sometimes I meet several of them in different years..) works, or do they act the same ways because I might subconsciously behave towards them the same way as to their lookalikes, and this is just the same response?

Maybe you subconsciouslly yet intentionally seek people who remind you of others, to fill a hole those persons left, or whatever. And I'd like to think they act the same way because you behave towards them like you did to their lookalikes... and keep expecting similar responses.
It would be depressing otherwise, as it would mean most people are replaceable and unoriginal, and I still hope we're all one of a kind, for good or evil.
on a related note, I once met a girl from Peru who looked EXACTLY like a girl from my city that I used to dislike strongly. And more scary, they had the same voice. The girl was seemingly friendly enough, but everytime I looked at her I remembered the other girl and had negative associations, so I couldn't stand her.
