Yes but where I live there are more people trying to find an apartment than people renting apartments... is a small town :(...

Even my boss is worried, he's helping me with the apartment too :(

Here in Holland it takes 8 years on average to get an apartment. The only way to work around the (fucked up) system is to rent an apartment from a real estate agency. But needless to say, they're so expensive, most people simply can't afford it.
Anyway, good luck to you :)

Isn´t in your rent contract stated how much notice there is to give, either if you would move out or if the owner wants you to move out? Or is there a general law about it? We have times like "3 months" notice if the owner wants you to move, except for it would be stated differently in the contract.

Hope you´ll find something!

Gtranquillity: Where then do people live until the average 8 years have passed?

Well... is all in the contract... My cousin signed the contract and he told me that he didn't read it very well!!!!... I just realized how immature he is... Right now I'm paying for everything in the house... but I'm done with that, no more!, I'm trying to find something just for me... he has been in Sweden for 15 years and he don't know what to do with his life!!!!... I have just 6 months here and I have a job and people in who trust, I know what to do and I know what I want... My boss is a really good guy and he take care of me all this time, I helped him a lot this winter so now he is helping me...

Thanks a lot guys!... I'll find something...

PD: If there are some swedish guy (or girl :)) in the stockholm area that rent an apartment... send me a PM please... thanks :)

It depends. Students often rent a (usually small and crappy) room or wait at their parents place. People with enough money rent an apartment from a real estate agency, and the ones that already have a place of their own just wait (and wait and wait) I'm moving in 2 weeks and I seriously hope I can stay there for at least a good part of my life, as the problem seems to get worse every year. On average, there's around 500 people responding to one single home here in Eindhoven, and from what I heard it's even worse in cities such as Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

At least you're not building tonnes of new houses all over the nature reserves and already minimal patches of countryside like we're doing. There's a load of fields behind my house which apparently will undergo a five year building plan, making 120 new homes available. Those fields have always been a silent refuge for me and others around here, not to mention a home for various wildlife. And soon there'll be nothing but concrete and ikea homes.

nf: fed up with scorpions who pretend they're dead and people who pretend they aren't. at least i'm listening to trycicles of steel.

wow, I didn´t know that at all. It´s probably because so many Germans go to live in Holland (or Belgium for that matter) and still work in Germany, but those are usually families who possibly buy or built a house for a lifetime, not about renting.

BastardSonOfGod: It sounds very cool about your new life in Sweden, what do you work if you don´t mind me asking? And how does it go with Swedish language?
And yeah, maybe your boss or other people could help you with finding a new place with a better contract, too.

King Chaos: They´d built many houses on all the greenlands between the buildings here, too, just too many people who want their own home, I guess and can´t blame them, why shouldn´t they have what you have ;) But it´s still annoying. Only way out is that no-one makes babies anymore, then there´ll be more space :D

Well Fireangel... I work in a restaurant, I don't know the name in English for my work... it's like "Barman" I think... but I'm looking for another work :)... I came to Sweden to study Music, so now I'm saving money to finance my studies... The thing is that I have to wait first for the Italian citizen because I can't study without a Visa (or something like that...) The family of my mother is Italian :) so I'm just waiting for my double nacionality (I'm Chilean)... The Swedish language is quite complicated, new letters, new sounds :(... and I'm learning it slowly because I spend more time at home with my guitar than going out to parties and things like that, I just don't like that things... I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke so for me that's just waste my time, I know that isn't good but what can I do... I hate the smell of cigarretes and I don't like drunk people hahahaha...

The think of the apartment is solved I think... Thanks to a friend :) is just a temporary solution, I'm moving to another apartment, I'll stay there for a few months (alone :) finally, something just for me) anyway I'm still looking for something more stable... the good thing is that now I have more time :)

Thanks for all the support people... :) Now I feel relieved :)
