The Gaming Thread

^yeah my friend and i beat it recently, its a bit buggy (a beta afterall) but still a great level

awwww its rare to meet apperciation for ogre battle, and oddly enough someone sent me a link to earthbound being 150$ today.......like literally 20 minutes before your post, incredibly weird.

i started with ff7, and then 10, loved them both, ive played most of them now, i rented 12.....played it for a bit.......then returned it.......never gave it another thought

haha i keep buying fire emblem, they keep getting stupidly easy, but i dont care

i also finished LoS on plegthons request (ill just say veins, first word is too hard to spell :p), symphony of the night is great too, as is curse of darkness for ps2 (although fanbois hate it, its got a lot of realyl good bosses, long play time, fun combat, leveling and a shit ton of weapons), the gameboy ones are all excellent too :)

They were all awesome, and it's probably the most epic story of any game ever. One family takes on Dracula for like 500 years. Do try ff12 again...it takes some time to get into...but I stuffed well over 120 hours into it on two separate occasions. Earthbound was such a fantastic game, but I don't know if it was $150 fantastic. Another retarded expensive game is ChronoTrigger. We picked up ff3 for SNES for $70, I think. That was well worth it.

Played a little of the Cold Creek beta for L4D2 last night. Pretty decent level design. Some of the textures are still popping a bit, but it should make for some good versus matches.

Jason, I'm thinking a Noob Saibot - Mileena combination should make for some good team combos with the grapples into light juggle ->big damage pounce. One of the first combos we should try out.

I was thinking of a Kitana/Jade combo after seeing those two together. And I had given some thought to Kano/Scorpion as well...seems like easy combo building. Scorpion was ridiculous easy to use based on the request of his 700k fanboys, I'm sure. :puke:

Yeah thats the exact reason I wouldn't bother with him in MkvsDC, I just felt dirty winning with him. I would really only use him against the people I knew spammed hellportal punch and scorpion kick, so I could counter spam them in a superior manner XD

ah yes i have chrono trigger for my DS :D

lol yes, i am almost 23 and still own a gameboy......its good for ......road trips

i would suggest illusion of gaia, one of my boyhood favorites for the snes, oh yeah fuck, and legend of zelda ocarina of time and a link to the past, link to the past was amazing, then OoT just blew my mind apart

Fuck age, the DS is a sexy handheld. Though i'm really eyeballing that Song NGP though. If it gets proper game support, it looks to be rocking.

Hmm. I literally just turned 23 on Monday. When's your birthday?

^june 5th actually, guess maybe its a bit later than i hinted at haha

veins, i wish the NGP had backwards compatability, so many good rpgs on the psp that wi'll never get to play :(

at least i still have a ps copy of tactics ogre i suppose, game took me forever to get far in.....although i got stuck in hells gate, i should finish the last level.

lol *in other news* i got aliens vs predator off steam for 5$ today, hope the single player will be worth the 5$, looks like fun. figure i'll have time for it once exams are over, maybe play through all the metal gear solids again

Robotic sub-zero, perhaps the only character not mentioned thus far? If that is him, then there are 3 pieces of the sub-zero character in the game.

haha anything good. actually i guess i like rpgs, although i rarely have the time for them anymore
the ps2 shin megami tensei titles were all good
i loved all the final fantasies up to 10.
star ocean 3 was amazing, 4 was alright.
demons souls, i love demons souls, finally a punishing game thie gen :p
rogue galaxy (if you like white knight chronicles, this game is on ps2, same company, better in every way except graphics)
metal gear solid is one of my favorite series, hard to choose a favorite among 1,3 and 4.
grand theft auto
resident evil 4 and 5 were great
borderlands
marvel vs capcom.
hitman series was amazing,
eternal darkness. one of the best gamecube games
gladius was good too on the gamecube
i also love old school snes games ( my snes is still hooked up, ready to go), donkey kong, mario, metriod, illusion of gaia is one of the best games of all time. megaman X was a great series too on the snes
i love the fire emblem series for gameboy (the first one, each subsequent one was easier and easier)
tales of symphonia is another game that was amazing, my sister and i beat that a good 4-5 times
starcraft
doom
FEAR
street fighter
dead space.
Left 4 dead 2
Battlefield bad company 2 (love this game, got me into online gaming along with left 4 dead)
mass effect
dragon age
metro 2033
portal
dead rising 2
kane and lynch (very original multiplayer)
god of war series (3 was incredible)
all the castlevanias, ive yet to play a bad one except the second one for n64
clay fighter
mario golf
perfect dark
timesplitters 2 (cant beat like 150 multiplayer skins)
mercenaries
xmen legends

all time favorite game - Ogre Battle 64, sort of an rts, making squads, knights wizards dragons lichs vampires, amazing story, extremely long (fastest i ever beat it was 29 hours), play it through every year. beat it like 10 times now

haha its hard to choose favorites, but those are some of my all time favorite games

basicly ill play anything where you can kill something

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? RESIDENT 4 & 5 SUCK ASS, YOU HAD TO BE FUCKING CANADIAN

 i tried playing the first 3, the controls were abysmal, even worse than SH2 (which i thought impossible)

4 was a great game, one of the best games of the last generation id say, completely perfected the over the shoulder camera, or at least drove it in the right direction. of course its easy now after ive beat it 4-5 times. those regenerators were fucking hard the first time (especially without the thermal scope)
sure it wasnt the same as the old ones, but if it had been named something else or was it's own unrelated series, say instead of resident evil they named it las plagas or something, all the die hard RE fanboys wouldnt flood the internet with their tears.

5 was like an updated 4 except significantly easier, but the co-op was a lot of fun if you have friends to play it with irl, used to go to a buddy's house and get drunk and play this , lots of fun, made up for shave being a shitty computer partner

what didnt you like about them? kinda hard to address criticism based around a simple, elitist comment :)

and as for canada.....at least its not a third world country :)

also, never finished silent hill 2 since someone ruined the ending for me :(, but it was a lot of fun once you got past the retarded controls , never been so scared/so low on ammo in my life

figure ill just edit this in here, ninja gaiden sigma was an awesome game :D, anyone ever play the sequels? are they worth the time?

The controls in the first games were bad, however I know myself and others got used to them really quick, to the point where I'd probably be able to play through it easily picking one up at random for years to come.

 im just screwin with ya :p, oh and its *Niki* :p

haha no, i see how people would not like it though, i mean it wasnt very scary, and if your smart you can get by on the ammo given, in fact now when i play 4 i dont upgrade the first set of weapons at all, makes it harder

i sold my copy of the gamecube REmake, so i'll never play it again chances are , i did love how hard it was. a am turning into a bit of a masochist for difficulty:heh:

I'm getting the HD remakes of 4 and Code Veronica when they come out.

Also, come to think of it, those early RE and SH games are probably what made controlling things in Deadly Premonition a non issue for me.
