The Gaming Thread

^i agree with you actually, in this day and age its so easy to just put out a broken game, and then patch it a week later. back in the day, if you put out a glitchy game, that was it, it was stuck on that cartridge and anyone who bought it suffered.

it sort of promoted quality control which there is a real lack of in recent years

^FINISH DARK SOULS SO WE CAN DISCUSS.

I don't know anyone else who's beaten it lol.

don't hold your breath . it might be a while since i dont use guides and am doing 6 classes in school

^Yes, but on the other side of the coin the game industry is a lot different than it used to be. I can't imagine the kind of pressure placed on devs by some publishers to pump out a product on time. Blizzard's relationship with Activision is really unique.

That being said...everyone should beta test everything. I don't know when that stopped o_0

And I agree with you completely. Full disclosure > hype. I hate finding out that the parts I've been expecting in games have been cut...if you're unsure if you have the resources to include some features or game modes...then just don't fucking mention it at all.

The fact of the matter is that game dev's are forced to do so much more in so much less time than in the past. Beta tests were NEVER there for every game, or even a majority of them. Less frequently now as well, as you have to pretty much ensuring your publisher mega bank in order for them to spend the time and resources on you to allow a beta test.

Also, more people play games these days. ALOT more play games these days. That is a huge increase in the chances of someone finding glitches, and the word of them spreading (due to the nature of the world these days with the internet) is ensured like forest fires. There are A TON of factors playing into this, most of which are out of the dev's team control.

And you win on a technicality, though I've never seen anything but the vidja discussed in here.

I'm totally posting shit about board games from now on just for you
