I've been an opeth fan for the better part of a decade now, and have always wondered how many times and it what songs Lopez uses the standard 6/8 clave.

I think we should compile a list of all the instances it is used, however, i'm not talking the basic lopez beat, he uses it in tons of his fills, as well as mixing up what he does on the ride/hats. A good example of this is Baying of the Hounds, listen closely, he uses the same beat about 5 times throughout the song, for completely different parts as well as twice or so in drum fills.
Let's start with Morning Rise and work our way up shall we?

Put it this way. He pretty much used that beat in every Opeth song.
Maybe write up a list of songs that DOESN'T have the drum beats. I'm sure that one will be much easier to do :)

I wouldn't call that a double paradiddle, it's more of a paraparadiddle. But, it could just be locational differences. I think of a double paradiddle as more of a paradiddlediddle...
