Just out of curiosity, I was wanting to know what other bands, besides Cryptopsy and Origin have used samples from the movie 'The Matrix' in their songs.

Cryptopsy using the quote from the subway fight between Neo and Agent Smith in the song "And Then It Passes"

...and Origin using part of Agent Smith's "Human beings are a disease" speech in "Disease Called Man"

I think using voice samples that weren't taken by the band members themselves is very unoriginal.

It pisses me off. It's so fucking lame.

I don't see how taking voice samples and using them in music is a bad thing. I kinda' like it, actually...

heh, I don't mind it at all really. It can add an interesting thematic or pictorial twist to the song. I personally love the Agent Smith quote at the start of ...and then it passes, it sounds so fucking cool. =D

yeah I also think the bit from Dogma at the begining of Origin's Inhuman is great.

something along the lines of:
"Anyone who isn't either dead or from another plane of existence would do best to cover their ears...now."

Im not talking about bands overusing it (how much would you consider overusing it?) im talking about bands using a little sample quickly in one of their songs and people complaining about it. its just that people look for the smallest little things to bitch about, kinda like lawsuits in america.

ahh whatever, forget about it, i don't really care...

Fuck dude...lighten up. I love samples. I bet you fucking loathe Mortician then.

I've got a track from a German Metalcore band, 'Copykill' that used the bit at the end of the first film with Neo giving us his final speech.

HA HA.

Mortician own.

I saw them the other week and they got rid of the samples because they only had a 40 minute slot, they were great.

Procreation of the Wicked by Mortician, how mad, their new HUMAN drum monster was playing one hell of a drum kit.

No Necrocannibal though :(
