Zonder and Rullo can kick Portnoy ass...

Right! I voted for Jason Rullo.
People don't take him serious although he is so incredible.
Of course there are not those amazing moments like in the verse of Accolade and a big problem is that you don't hear everything he plays!

Thinking I was voting for Jason Rullo, I accidentally pressed the circle for Chris Ingles, so just in your mind, add 1 to Other. (I changed my mind midway through typing.) My choice would definitely be EVERYBODY IN THE PROG WORLD! Like I've said in many threads, nobody around me knows anything of the existence of Prog.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, guitarist of The Mars Volta(I don't know what else to call them but prog). He is by no means a shredder, but he is very talented and has some ingenius works.

or John Myung, neither of whom is listed.

:OMG: Myung? That's weird, as here, almost every prog listener likes him very much, and he is most bass player's favourite (metal-rock) instrumentalist. Of course, i can't know the situation in other countries.

Gotta agree with that. I love that band!
Any chance of someone fixing the title? I keep reading "pork". :zombie:

it really hard to pick one , but i voted Devin .with the the quality records that he has been pumping through all these years ,it s really a shame that he is not well known enough :(.....you can add Andy Winter to the list as well :/ ....

I think Trey Gunn has written or been involved in pretty much some of the most interesting music in the world for over a decade. I don't "get" Devin Townsend, but I would hardly call him underrated considering the unending praise he gets.

I voted for Devin Townsend, in my opinion he cannot get enough recognision. I admire his constant innovation, no two albums are alike! I haven't heard music by any other artist that resembles Devin as well. He's a one of a kind. So versatile and original! Not saying I love everything he does though; I dislike pretty much everything by Strapping Yound Lad and I never got into Physicist and Infinity either. Deconstuction is headache with glimpses of beauty and cool stuff.

I'd vote for Dan Swanö, but since it's not an option, I guess I'll have to go with HevyDevy.

I never got into Physicist and Infinity either.
Kingdom (from physicist) is killer live and Truth (infinity) is one of my favorite instrumentals ever, also pretty sweet live. Both are featured on the recent european tour live ep.

This is probably the coolest Kingdom, starting from around 0:25 or so. God I want that recording so bad.
