DHIADW ftw!! one of the greatest metal bands of all times...all the albums are killer, modern metal can't get much better than these guys. Jeff's riffs are sharp as hell and his solos are like songs within songs...and Warrel has such an unique voice.

I'd say they're amongst my favorite metal bands right now.

Pretty talented dudes who's best work may still be ahead of them. Each album seems to grow stronger from start to finish.

I voted but it was a tough call. I could not consider the first, beacuase i do not own it. I voted for their latest, but i cant really explain why....at the moment it is my favourite by them (maybe its because it sounds so unrestrained and fresh). It USED to be Dreaming Neon Black. I loved the emotion of the songs. Dane has a talent for really sounding sorrowful when he sings and this is what the album is all about. I can understand why some people cant stand him, but i think he is superb.
Just lately, ive been listening to DHiaDW much, much more. Politics is also excellent...the EP In Memory (which you did not list) is a bit...meh. Enemies is really hit and miss, even the remixed version.

My fav tracks are:

Born
This Godless Endeavour
Psalm of Lydia
Sentient 6 (what amazing lyrics)
River Dragon as Come
Enemies Of Reality
Inside Four Walls
Tiananmen Man
Seven Tongues Of God
No More Will
Dreaming Neon Black
Believe In Nothing
Next In Line

shit i could go on, sorry....i have just as much trouble making a concise favourite list as i do Opeth.

i love nevermore's earlier stuff. espesially politics of ecstasy. such an awesome album. great riffs, awesome lead guitar work, great atmosphere. i cant even name favorite tracks i could name two that are not A+++ class (the titletrack and tianenmen man). i also love the EP and dreaming neon black. the seltitled has some great songs (sea of possibs). DHIADW has the best lead guitar stuff (river dragon and engines of hate) but some of the songs are fairly boring (heart collector, believe in nothing, evolution 169).
mh ... enemies has only two real good songs imo (create the infinite, seed awakening) the rest is just okish.
godless endeavour was way better but not as good as the old stuff imo ...

I love how you just make a retarded statement and never ever back it up.

Iyo who is better than Loomis?

And what is wrong with using a 7 String?
I won't debate who is better than Loomis because apparantly playing fast = teh best to some people here. But there are much more creative guitar players. Although he might be the best in palm muting riffs and the use of effects :Smug:

And using a 7-string guitar is common in bands that have "tight sounding" riffs, but are actually very simple to play power chords etc... So basically it adds to the quality of the riffs but does not make someone a better guitar player.
