I'm so glad I can finally say this; you are fucking retarded. In all honesty, that statement shouldn't even be dignified with a rebuttal, but since I'm such a nice guy, here goes.
A 7-string is just a 6'er with an added Low B. You can play anything you play on a 6'er on a 7-string and it doesn't sound better in the least. You just have the option to utilize an extra low string if you want it.
Have you tried playing any Opeth riffs down a string? Does it sound better to you? Do you have ears? Do you even understand the concept of trying to expand your playing field as a musician?

Such a sweeping and fallacious statement. Those who want to play 'heavier sounding' riffs can simply buy a baritone or downtune their 6'ers. The addition of a 7th string actually makes the instrument harder to play and opens up more possibilities in creating music.
I'm sorry though, I must've missed the part where I became less creative as a musician after I bought my 7-string. I suppose they should come with those labels, like smoking packets. 'May invoke nu-metal tendencies'?
Sadly out here in reality, black and white statements such as 'Playing a riff on a 7-string makes it sound better' tend to be more the target of ridicule rather than accurate insights.
Don't you think if that was the case, every single guitarist would have bought one? Since hey, don't we all want our riffs to sound as good as possible?
Seriously, just leave with what little credibility you have left. Don't keep posting in this thread.
