What do people think of their "cover" of sounds of silence?
Keith! said:He cant have said that? If by better you mean technical ability, which is generally what people mean when they say better, then Loomis hands down. Its personal preference who you like more.
I'm listening to Dead Heart in a Dead World now. I can hear alot of Shane in Loomis' soloing, his phrasing especially and alot of his licks sound similer to Shane. Loomis is just tighter and has better tone control and has more feel, but shane would be faster.
NineFeetUnderground said:why are people even debating whether or not loomis is better than laiho? this is a joke.
Keith! said:Yeah for sure, I think I have to redo most of his solo's for their ep, he just plays to fast, it doesnt sound nice on most of them.
metal_wrath said:And using a 7-string guitar is common in bands that have "tight sounding" riffs, but are actually very simple to play power chords etc... So basically it adds to the quality of the riffs but does not make someone a better guitar player.
Keltoi said:I find arguments over who is a better guitar player like I see arguments over who would win in a fight between Superman and Batman, it's silly. Could it possibly be that Loomis is a great guitar player and so are a bunch of other people? I love Nevermore, so I like to hear Loomis play. If you don't like Nevermore, fine, just don't get into a childish argument over guitar wanking.
fair enough. Overhyped then.NineFeetUnderground said:why are they overrated? nobody even cared much about them until this last year or so.
