The new pic thread

Plintus, you still make no sense. True, I'm not in a position of great power (and I never wanted to be), but how does that prevent me from expressing my opinion on political matters? Why does my opinion bother you so much that you need to tell me to "just shut the fuck up"? You know, the main idea of democracy is to offer common people like me the chance to affect things by giving them the option to vote and speak freely. I'm content on doing just that - I don't feel the need to start rebellions or some such sillyness. If I did, I'd probably be blowing up Americans somewhere, but I really don't believe in such methods. I've participated in some non-violent protests in my youth, just like pretty much everyone.

I appreciate you telling me your own opinion (even though I never asked you to do so), but I'm really not interested in discussing this topic here. Mainly for two reasons: 1) because it easily leads to stupid name-calling and 2) because it is a boring topic and does not belong to this thread.

If you really want to discuss politics (which I doubt, as you already told me to shut up), let's take it to the appropriate thread. Otherwise, just let me discuss with Wilfdyr whether or not this forum is anti-American or not, which is the topic I came here to discuss about (and to which you accidentally contributed by expressing your pro-Americanism - so, thank you, I guess).

how 'bout AK-47 up your ass in Baghdad? You'd scream for Bush!

You really think so? I'm afraid I wouldn't. Following the same logic: How about an M-16 up your ass in Kabul? You'd scream for Lukashenko. Makes just as much sense as your silly comment.

Haha, so you'd give it up and die then? My first thought would be "Where the fuck those fucking marines are?" Well, and probably the last one.
Irrelevant.

Apparently according to you we should stay inside our own small circle of possibly 3 people and not care about anything good or bad happening outside it. Or we should be out there protesting or maybe preaching peace in Iraq? Pretty extreme. I agree that in general people should try to make a difference more, but...you're just not convincing me.

@Taliesin: Charming "I don't really have anything to say but I'm with you man" post.

I do have something to say, I just cant be assed doing it in a discussion that's half a step away from name-calling

No, don't expect name-calling, here, - civilized we are, ain't we?

My point about that opinion of Villains: nothing wrong with having an opinion, but opinons don't change anything.

And that Kabul comment is totally random: what I was implying (exaggeratingly!) is - if you are so upset about US suppressing Iraq and so care about Iraqis, you can always find yourself in that funny position I mentioned, it all depends.

Let's take it to the politics thread (I'm not done yet, a few more things to cover), I'll be on the road till Monday, but I will get to it later.

Expect some weekend pictures, and have a great one :)

Marek: It must have been a stream of consciousness thing at the time. The song wouldn't leave my head after having listened to the disc the day before, even with lots of other stuff in between. o_O

Plinty: Thanks for sharing part of your history with us. What you've shared sounds very grim and dark. Was it always like that or were there were any positive experiences from Belarus you'd like to share? Any silver linings amidst all the grim and darkness? I'm up for a shift into a more positive direction if you'd like to tell us, or better yet show us, with any pics you may have from your original homeland. Break out the scanner if you have to!

Villain: I'm sorry more people over here don't know what Dark+Tranquillity means. /

Dave: Nice stairway foto. You're just being vulgar and arrogant with the other one. That's not cool.

Kathleen23: Haven't checked your link yet but I'll keep it handy. Thanks!

Actually no :) It always was from normal to bad, but never really great or something I miss now.

And all the nice scenery you can see is just a facade.

Got my friend's girlfriend to do us some band pics today. Some of them didn't turn out half bad... although we were in a stupid mood and were finding it hard to be serious.

I'm really pleased with them because I think they show the dynamic of us as friends aswell as being a doomy metal outfit. :)... just thought I'd share.

@KC: nice pics, though if you want to be a doomy metal band you should try harder to be grim. :p
in this one you look very cute.
