Hardcore is the worst kind of heavy music...
Nah, metalcore is. (Except God Forbid)

But metalcore at least has a trace of metal in it... Traditional hardcore is like punk with screaming, whilst new hardcore is just a single, down-tuned chord played at slow tempo... blah blah it just sucks. Having said that, so does metalcore...
(I mean you can't go wrong with 2 sweeping guitarists!)
Yes you can, actually.
Too much sweeping makes stuff boring to me, it sounds good when used wisely but if you just go nuts with sweeps like most bands do nowadays it will end up being shit.
having the ability to play well technically means nothing if you don't know how to use your skill. It's been said many times that the most important notes are the ones that aren't played (or variations of that same phrase). If someone is wanking all the time (dragonforce), it may be impressive but it's not interesting or good. A truly great guitarist knows that holding back is just as important as letting loose. Dynamic is what makes a great solo great.

Well said. A good example of a guitarist like this is Victor Smolski from Rage, and also Mattias IA Eklundh from Freak Kitchen.
Luis is definitely one hell of a guitarist though, all the guys in Mutiny are very talented.
Oh and Zach, nice Candlejack avatar, I haven't seen Freakazo

That's why my band got someone who's of equal, if not better skill than I to play 2nd guitar for us. I use the two guitarist thing to my advantage whenever I can. I consider writing those parts to be a test for myself, because I don't just do parallel 5ths or 3rds. i try to let each do its own thing, and I test each note to see if it fits with what the other guitar is playing. Very time consuming, but the finished product is definitely worth it.I love the idea of 2 equally skilled lead guitarists rather than the traditional Lead/rhythm guitarists... Harmonized soloing and stuff sounds awesome!!! My friend and I are trying to get a band like that happening, similar to Cacophony, (though not quite as awesome cos that would be near impossible... ). I'll let ya'll know of any developments... He's gotta finish school this year, so I'll be writing tunes and trying to find a drummer, bass player and keyboardist to complete the line-up... I think we'll just go instrumental initially...
