The Official Band/Project/Whatever (yours or anyones) Promotion Thread

I guess I just wanted to give you guys the name of a band that I LOVE, and cannot wait to see live again. They're called DragonForce, they're British, and describe themselves as "Extreme Power Metal". They've got one of the most talented guitarists out there today (Herman Li) and they haul ass!

You can listen to some tracks on there.

I'm sorry, I mistook (yours, or anyone's) to mean (yours, or anyone's)

EDIT: I'll stick to unknowns from now on though. When I get my prog metal band, I'll stick them up. *sigh*

OK, it's not really prog, but still...

My band Ezperanza just made their first E.P. available for free download on www.ezperanza.com

Right now, the site doesn't contain that much, but that'll change soon enough ;)

We're right now writing our first full length album due to be recorded this August with new line-up and some stylistic changes as well.

We're always open to comments, criticism and the like, so feel free to share your thoughts with us.

I was listening to this online radio station earlier because I left my cd case home. They play a lot of stuff that I like.

Check it out..

I requested DWoT and they played it within 30 minutes of my request :)

Look at their playlist. THey have a lot of bands.

Guess what? im new here, so i just whent ahead and posted a "hey check it out" post in the official forum :yuk:

Ennyways since you guys like progresive metal, sx, dt and so on, id like to recomend a band to you. they are to be found on this link: www.pagansmind.com

Go to the media section and see what you think. If they are old news to you then id like to hear what you think of them :D

OK...I was messing around again with DT stuff. This time I did "The Answer Lies Within" from Octavarium. If you don't like the song, don't bother. If you do, then try this. I know there are some places where I have some minor screwups, but overall I'm happy.

BTW, there's what seems like a missing vocal section where you hear "You've got the future on your side"...here's what happened.

Obviously being female I'm no James LaBrie, but still, this creeped me out a little! ;)

Nice work there RI. You might want to make your voice louder because James sounds like hes in control.

Good job once again arglebargle. I still think Utopian Discord is your best work. I really, really love music like that.

edit...Sands of Time is your second best :p

For a suggestion, try to go with the more celtic/metal mix. I like that a lot :)

edit 2...Did you ever hear "Now We Are Free?" It is written by Hans Zimmer and sung by Lisa Gerard. It was played during the Gladiator movie. This is the song that first got me into new age music. Go here:

and listen to the sample at the midlde of the page. Try to do something with it :tickled:

Hey guys, sweet idea. My band Knorwood is from Maryland, and we'd love to hear your opinions, you can hear our music at www.myspace.com/knorwoodx
add us if you have myspace, and leave a comment, if not just leave your feedback here. Thanks.

We sound like a mix between Children of Bodom and Opeth, in my opinion... Were youngsters so try not to be too harsh on us considering our main songwriter is 15. haha. word, thanks

Ricky.

Assault upon the black citadel is awesome- very nice work :headbang: very castlevania metal'ish

the drums could be a bit higher though :p

Thanks dude, and it's always a tricky mix job when you use both real and sampled instruments... the drums are poorly produced IMO and the guitars should be higher in the mix. :D

I saw Gladiator, but I don't remember the music. Also, I don't think my CT remix is anywhere near my best song, but different strokes for different folks, eh? As long as you don't hear any of the other 1,305 Zeal remixes that are better than it, though, I guess it's an okay piece. Celtic metal is always a cool idea... I'm working on an electronica album with some dude right now though, so it might be a while until I get around to writing such a song.

Your Zeal Remix was the first I heard therefore all else are inferior :)

Hey Rose Immortal, can you sing "Trapped inside this octavarium" like James does? I would like to see how far you can go without destroying your voice :Spin:

I HAVE tried it a few times, actually, and only felt I succeeded once out of the four attempts.

I'd have to get my parents' house to myself on a visit there--I could NOT do it in my apartment, especially after I complained to one of my neighbors about the noise from THEIR place...would be just a touch hypocritical, don't you think? ;)

So maybe someday...I dunno. I'd probably have to warm up with that whole passage before that line...

About the mixing in the other one--I just noticed your comment. You're right that I probably did undermix myself. That's a bad habit of mine when I do these overdubs, but I'm always afraid of drowning out the original singer and thus uglyfying the track. ;)

Hey guys. yea i know im new, but i have been a fan of these guys for a while now. I saw this thread and figured i would help out a few friends. Check these guys out Triptych These guys are not metal but more of a heavy alterative. The lead singer Nick has a hell of a voice. i recomend checking these guys out. :D
