Dang - sure would love to catch FK live again!!!! Got to catch up with IA at Musikmesse in Frankfurt a few months ago. :) That was cool. . . .

In light of the multiple "hey check out this/my band/site/radio show" threads scattered around the forum, I've made this official thread. So please post all entries here that are along the lines of..

..check out my band/project/new song/cd..
..check out this band/project/new song/cd..
..check out my/this radio show..
..my band needs a <fill in the blank> player..

..or the like.

I'm going to close all the various promotion threads that are open now, so feel free to repost your info here if you want to continue with existing conversations. Thanks! :)

Hey folks,
this is super as I would love, love some feedback, positive, constructive criticism and dialogue. I play guitar, some bass, and have a friend that plays bass and keys. The drummer also records for me. It is just a project:

musicsubmit.com/RozichandBrailsford

It is instrumental music, as we really cant sing. Please let me know what you think.

Hey people! My name is Christian Muenzner, I play guitar for the german prog death metal band Obscura (on the 2 recent albums Cosmogenesis and Omnivium) and used to play in Necrophagist (on the album Epitaph).
Since some people say they hear hints of Symphony X in some of my songs, I thought some of you people here might dig it but not have heard of it yet. Working with me on the album were Steve DiGiorgio and Jacob Schmidt (Bass), Hannes Grossmann (Drums), Daniel Galmarini (Keyboards), and it has guest solo appearances by Bob Katsionis (Firewind, Revolution Renaissance etc.), Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry), shrapnel recording artist Derek Taylor (Eniac Requiem, Crimeny), Ryan Knight (ex Arsis, Black Dahlia Murder) and Alex Guth (Stormwarrior).

You can check out my music here:

http://christianmuenzner.bandcamp.com/

http://soundcloud.com/christian-muenzner

You can order the album directly from me (as explained on the soundcloud page), you can buy the digital versions on Bandcamp, Amazon MP3 and CD Baby, ITunes will have it within the next couple of days, physical copies will also be available on Guitar 9 and CD Baby soon.

thats cool you will be on guitar9.com; that is how I discovered sym x. How did you go about that web page and your cover art?

It's an odd billing, but here's your chance to see the awesome jazz/rock/metal fusion of Morglbl in the windy city!

From the promoter:

There were a lot of requests for a Mörglbl show in Chicago, and thanks to the help of some old and new friends, Blue Mouth Promotions LLC
(BMP) is excited to announce that Mörglbl will be at the Ultra Lounge,
2169 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chi-town on Saturday, August 27. Doors at 7pm. Show starts at 8pm.

Be sure to catch the other bands on the bill that evening: Guzzlemug www.guzzlemug.bandcamp.com , Three Cheers for One Dead Man www.myspace.com/dylanposa, and Arriver www.myspace.com/arriver.

You asked for Chicago, so go and take ALL of your friends! Let's show Mörglbl a proper Chicago welcome!

Been a while, but I thought I'd follow up on that Zappa thing I mentioned a while back. I don't think I've ever actually posted anything I've been involved in here on the forum before, but here's on of the vids from the show. It's the Pygmy Twylyte/Zomby Woof medley we did. The Zomby Woof arrangement (instrumental, three piece) is something my band (my band=me + the drummer and bassist during the Zomby Woof portion of the vid). It's not our most lively performance, but we couldn't get too rowdy in there :(. You should definitely hit up the sidebar for more vids from the show if you are interested!

Also, for shameless promotional purposes. My band, Arrhythmogen, is going to be hitting the studio in September (tentative plan) to do our first EP and will be shooting video at our next couple of gigs. I feel terrible promoting this without having anything original to show for it, but if you could throw us a "like" on facebook, that would be lovely. For fans of Zappa, BTBAM, Cynic, Scale the Summit, and fun. Page found here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arrhythmogen/241593989199110

(and for the love of god, forgive my awful attempt at artwork while I wait for my artist friend to draft some stuff up for us)

It looks like Irene caused an issue for Progday....No matter, Three Swedes are are going to help out with that! Freak Kitchen is playing Progday!

http://progday.net/ProgDay-News.html

FK is being replaced at the PRESSHOW by the Cameron Allen Trio....

"Since Freak Kitchen has moved to Sunday at Prog Day, here's the update for the pre-show on Friday at Local 506. I added a facebook link as well.

Cameron Allen Trio will open the show. Be sure to catch this up and coming artist who will be debuting his new music for you.

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra will continue to ramp up the evening to keep you entertained.

Andy Wood will now be headlining the evening. Hours of fabulous entertainment to prepare you for the weekend festivities!

Doors 7:30pm, show starts at 8pm.

----

Andy Wood must surely be the guitar hero of generation Y. Andy's grandfather taught him the mandolin at the age of 5, and by the time he was 16 he placed second in the world championship mandolin contest.
It would be two more years before Andy's interest turned to guitar unlocking a world of musical possibilities far beyond his bluegrass roots. At the age of 22, a mere 4 years later, Andy entered the Guitarmageddon national guitar competition and walked away as the champion

Hi, I am in the Band Mirrorscape. Currently working on our first full length album. We are Epic Melodic Metal from St. Louis and are currently in a competition to open for the Rockstar Uproar Festival in StL. Looking to create some exposure so if you get a few minutes check out our links and take a listen. Our demo which is currently up isn't the best quality but it gives an idea of our sound. It also made us realize we are perfectionists lol. We are currently preparing to open for Arsis in November so if you live in STL or surrounding areas hit me up for tickets. If you dig us, give us a like and subscribe to our youtube channel we have a few neat things in store for our channel in the next few weeks.

Bumping this post just as a reminder to any Chicago area folks, Sunday's going to kick a lot of ass! :D

Hey everyone! I used to post here regularly AGES ago as Yngvai_X. My band, Dark Empire, is gearing up to release our 3rd album, From Refuge to Ruin, sometime early 2012 (we're hoping March). We have a brand new singer, and our style has taken a turn down a more progressive path than our previous efforts. We recently made the first single, A Plague in the Throne Room, public a few days ago. I figured it'd be a good idea to share it here, since I reckon it would appeal to Symphony X fans :).

here is our facebook page, which should take you to our BandPage player:

http://www.facebook.com/darkempireband

If that doesn't work, here is a direct link to our soundcloud player:

http://soundcloud.com/darkempireband

Hope you guys dig it! :D
