Started that new South Korean action noir Mercy for None on Netflix today. First episode was pretty awesome, kinda reminded me of movies like The Man from Nowhere and A Bittersweet Life. @Vegard Pompey up your alley I think.

The first four seasons of Futurama are unbeatable to me, but I've been casually rewatching the show from the start so I can finally decide. What's everybody's favourite season?

I don't think I've seen a full season of Futurama. Perhaps I should watch that instead of those strange old aussie and kiwi movies from that YT link in the movie thread.

Last night I finished another great South Korean show, this time one from 2023 called Bloodhounds.


It's about 2 young boxers who take on a criminal money lending organisation. Even better than Mercy for None imo with some absolutely insane action but also very memorable characters and a top notch ability to keep you hooked with the plot, highly recommended. Just 8 eps with apparently a 2nd season in development.

The Bear are seriously out of ideas. Season 3 was weak and this one is a snooze fest so far. Hails to a 10/10 first two seasons though.

The 3rd season was my favourite lmao, the first 2 seasons were just whatever to me for some reason. Still good but didn't really get all the hype.

3 had its moments but was weak overall imo. Lot of filler.

I loved "Napkins" and still think it's the single best episode of The Bear so far, so that might be biasing my overall view of season 3.

Yeah and it was directed by Ayo Edebiri (her debut). Such a great episode, even just for the soundtrack alone.

I started e1 but haven't finished, only saw about fifteen minutes. Something came up and I had to turn it off. So, this might be a pointless remark, as I still have a significant stretch of the episode to go and haven't seen e2, but... I was not impressed. Acting felt awkward, plot felt rushed, and there were some pretty bad effects. I'll give the first two eps a go, but things need to change if they want me to keep watching.

I thought the premiere was solid, not immediately gripping but felt like a springboard for multiple different stories. They made future earth an interesting place before introducing the xenomorph to it & the hybrids are a cool concept.

Anyone watching the (second) Dexter revival? Still waiting for them to fuck it up somehow but so far it's shaping up to be the best season they've ever done.

Dexter's not bad, but it's not a scratch on the original series.
