Considering the show was on my turf and that I’m the first to get to the computer, I’ll start this bitch.

The show was kick ass and I had a great time meeting everyone at the show. I was actually surprised at how personable everyone was especially towards a boarder line lurker like me. Each and every one of you rules. Especially JayKeeley.

I’m going to post details, thoughts, and pictures in a bit.

Reposted from the ProgPower board - too weary (both from festival and travel) to give a truly detailed analysis, but some quick thoughts anyway:

First, really nice meeting Swordlord, he did an excellent job as emcee at the event. What a phenominal festival and day of metal that was. May have been the greatest single show I have ever attended. Moonsorrow slayed, Primordial slayed, Thyrfing slayed, November's Doom slayed, Enshrined slayed, the sound slayed, the energy of the crowd slayed, the people slayed. The fun factor was simply off the charts. If the caliber of the lineup remains as strong, this will easily become an annual pilgrimage for me.

Oh yeah, and Zod wanted to come by Phantom Zone Mirror, but the three seats available were previously sold out. :loco: Had a blast rooming with him though. Special shoutouts to General Zod, MadeInNewJersey, JayKeeley, (you three make every festival we go to a huge blast no matter what), MetalRose (awesome hanging out with you and getting to talk at length for the first time, "Speaking of boobies hitting me in the face...." :D ), Paul from November's Doom, everyone I had a chance to hang out and talk to and of course the cast and crew of the event itself. Just a great, great weekend.

EDIT - can't forget a huge shoutout to Ct Thrash, Reign in Acai & Furious B as well. The strength of RC is evergrowing. Really fun hanging out with you guys.

I'm just still so floored by this event/weekend. I'm actually pretty speechless. This was probably one of the best weekends of my life, and certainly one of the best shows I've EVER been to (if not THE best).

It was definitely cool to see more RC folks out there. What a community we're building...almighty cheesy hails to CT Thrash, Reign in Acai, Furious B (thanks for coming up to us and recognizing my Agalloch shirt :D And the spooning was good too :loco: ). Plus all the non RC folks who will no doubt become RC folks one day, hahah. And of course the "tri-state gang": General Zod, Dark One, MarkinNewMaidenGugsJersey.

OH by the way guys....that PRIMORDIAL "Dark Romanticism" CD I bought is actually a CD/DVD release -- the DVD is a live concert of them playing at San Open Air on their "Spirit..." tour. :kickass: It's got "Gods to the Godless"!!

JK ... he has ... como se dice ... charisma :loco:

Did you thrash it up with Gugs?

Man, we thrashed and thrashed away.

Gugs is writing something up, but I'll tell you this: Zod's white Nevermore shirt looks so much cooler now that it's covered in blood.

I know I forgot to send you those questions for the promoter ... but did any of you have a talk with him?

lurch - I didn't but Mark *might* have done, although I doubt it was anything too coherent. :loco:

We did have a quick chat with Paul from Novembers Doom about contacting bands for a fest etc, but no details. And when I say "quick", it could have gone on for much longer but Mark kept interrupting with wanting to feel up some chicks udders in front of everyone and pull his underwear off from beneath his kilt and wipe his butt on Zod. :loco:
