The Official "You've-Gotta-Check-This-Band-Out!" Thread -- MISC METAL GENRES

BIOMECHANICAL

I never thought I would like this type of band, but they rule. I have their new album, "Empires of the New Worlds" and it's a scorcher!

They are on the Chicago PowerFest line-up this year, www.ChicagoPowerfest.com. I think they alone are worth the price of the ticket.

BTW, what WOULD everyone categorize this band as? They aren't really death ... thrash maybe?

Check out SoulRelic out of Finland. They are along the lines of HIM and Sentenced and such. Typically great Finnish sound if you like that kind of thing.

Also check out Vengeance's "Take it or Leave It" cd for late 80s Dutch hard rock at its best! Yes, this was Arjen L's band then but it's just a ballsy type of cd with some unique stuff for the era.

Ram-Zet... proggy thrashy deathy metal with male death vocals, female death vocals, female mid-range vocals, and female operatic vocals, and featuring violin leads in parts

Ram-Zet is really good.

Does ANYONE listen to the newer Tiamat stuff with an open mind? Or Lake of Tears? Now, THAT, my friends is awesome atmospheric music!

Semargl (on Deathgasm Records)
Oathean

Bella Morte (new material is more trending toward metal instead of goth/punk/death rock)
