When I listen to Deliverance I think about the amazing film "The Others". Its the same feeling in the film...
Also, the cover of Deliverance feels the same.

Has Micke been influenced by this film?

There's alot of horror/mystery themes that come to mind when I listen to Deliverance.. it just fits them all.. it's just the most morbid/mind-twisting album I've heard so far. But yes The Others does stand out quite a bit, great movie by the way.

i haven't seen the others yet....but the first time i heard By The Pain I See In Others i immediately got an image of an man, maybe old, creeping through the Deliverance house about to commit an evil deed.

opeth should definatley do the film score for a really grim as fuck dark film about ghosts and shit that haunt people out in cabins deep in the woods of mountians in sweden/norway set in the 15th century or something.

What chills me to the bone is the image of the face in the mirror on the front cover of Deliverence...VERY...F**KING...FREAKY. Actually, I'm not even sure if that is a mirror, but if you look closely, right next to the clock across from the bed, there is a very eerie face staring back at you. When I listen to "By The Pain I See In Others, it is this image that is stuck in my head.
