the Pronunciation thread

taake = toe-keeye - with a softer and moer bunched sound on the "keeye' part - that's how I was told anyway - at least I know the first half is "Toe" :P

READ WHAT I WROTE DAMNIT! Dont add eeys and wyayes and whateverthefuck everywere. Taake is pronounced TÅKE. TÅ-KE if you want. No more, no less. The Å is pronounced like american kids say the O in "boring".
End.

Hliðskjálf?

help a non-Norwegian out please?

It's not Norwegian it's Icelandic or old Norse or whatever. Probably pronounced "Hilð-shelf", "Hilð-shålf" or "Hilð-shalf". I know the band name Ásmegin is pronounced "Åsmegin" but the ´ over the a in Hliðskjálf might be pronounced differently, who knows.
The ð is pronounced like the "th" in for example "the" or "thine", not "thing". Look it up on google.
