I believe in God in my own way. I don't really follow a religion, because like you said, they pretty much all have their own agenda and have been manipulated for centuries. I mean fuck, I was raised catholic but, how the fuck can I back up a religion that says condoms are evil and therefore literally millions of people in Africa have contracted aids and died because of it.

People need comfort, and like to have a connection with others. If religion gives them that, then who cares. It only the ignorant "ABORTION BAD, GAYS BAD" morons who sometimes get under my skin but I know they are sad hollow pieces of self-righteous shit and not worth my time because they are incapable of true empathy or intelligence. Better to just ignore them.

Religion is a personal choice, just like anything else. For that matter, conscious atheism suffers the same fate as any other limited or all-encompassing from of nihilism, because it is itself an ideology akin to the one it is defying, and is thus no different. This doesn't literally translate to atheism = religion, but it pretty close.
