MARCH ON, MY MINIONS, TO THE FINAL BATTLE!

Pick of the week: Ras Algethi's Oneiricon: The White Hypnotic

Still beautiful, still massively underappreciated, this is one of the few doom albums everyone must hear.

It's also radioactive as far as I can tell

Well yeah...you gotta consider the margin of error in the statistics.

edit: hey, Necuratul...you might as well keep that album in your avatar indefinitely since it is not only the album of the week, but of all-time.

I checked out Noir, and it's really fucking good! The first song has this nice jazzy bit with a sax. I'm still workin my way through the cd, but yeah...it's great stuff

good, because the m-a review was really lacking and i won't have a chance to check it out until next weekend. try 'true nature unfolds' while you're at it...

Am I the only one here that really enjoys the new Dissection. I have heard a lot of negativity surrounding the record. The guitar playing and song writing is outstanding imo, and jons vocals are easily his best to date.

It's surprising how he maintained being such a great guitarist in prison. His playing is classy as hell on this record and his songs really powerful. I love old dissection but don't think he was finished as a musician, and enjoyed the new direction.

Nah its pretty crappy. The songwriting is too simple and pop-rocky in terms of structure. His vocals are about the only good thing on the record IMO. Hrimthursum is much better ;)

I like how the songwriting is poppy. The songs make me feel like rocking right the fuck out because they rock so hard. The band seems to be really enjoying themselves on it.

'Hrimthursum' is insane on all levels. As a guitarist those guys inspire me right into hell. Necrophobic are the real deal.
