Slaughter of the Soul is at least a 7/10. I rather enjoy it. Repetitive, yes, but it's still enjoyable.

A cool new Tristania song below from illumination. I would say this is more soft and catchey than 'ashes' with a slight paradise lost draconian times vibe mixed with tiamat.

I just heard some Krux... I have to admit I wasn't expecting much (mainly due to the terrible name... yes, I'm fickle like that), but it's actually pretty good.

"Slaughter of the Soul" does just that, slaughters. I can't believe how you can't appreciate the fucking awesome riffing and frenetic pace of those songs. And the drums are amazing. I don't get how you can call it repetitive. The only thing repetitive about it is that it is consistently brughtal!

I've checked out Unanimated- Ancient God of Evil and I'm loving it It's still not better than Eucharist. I NEVER thought I'll say it but I think A Velvet Creation is the best Swedish DM classic.
AstrumInfinito: Many people(including me) have found The Red in the Sky is Ours a very inaccessible and demanding album. Don't dismiss it so easily.

SOTS is the weakest of the Gothenburg trifecta. Jester Race and The Gallery are far superior.

I think the guitar sound adds an eerie almost symphonic element
