Anybody who likes Jakprogresso/Jak Tripper check out Ancient Wisdom, it's an album that was recorded in the mid-00's and recently recovered and polished for consumption. Good shit!

Power metal was definitely my biggest blind-spot for 2020 metal (while death metal was a hyper-focus hence not bothering to list it here). Judicator's Let There Be Nothing album was the only proper (ie non-USPM) power metal album I checked out and liked.

Anybody with any 2020 power metal recommendations (or any other genre) please hit me up and enlighten me.

Lovebites - Electric Pentagram
Not exactly a pure power metal album, because it also contains two thrash metal songs ("Set the World on Fire" being their heaviest thus far), "Raise Some Hell" and "Dancing With the Devil" are heading in the direction of hard rock, "Golden Destination" sounds a bit Maiden-ish and I don't really know how to classify "A Frozen Serenade". Since they are even better live and 8 out of the 12 songs on "Electric Pentagram" also made it onto the "Five of a Kind"-live album/DVD/Blu-ray, I also recommend the latter.

Is that what you posted in the 2020 metal thread yesterday? I didn't think to check there before asking, but looking now it seems there isn't much overlap with your top fives by genre. No worries either way, I was just looking for a condensed list of shit to check out.

Yeah most of my top 10 is death metal (which I excluded here) but now that I think about it, my top 5 of all genres would be the same as the upper 5 of my metal top 10 anyway. There was a lot of amazing non-metal released last year but nothing that would crack my overall top 5.

Oh yeah we had Top Cat occasionally but it wasn't very often, kind of like a fill in program. Scooby was kind of the same it definitely wasn't a regular show. Because we only had one commercial station it was a mix of the three commercial channels from the city, a bit like what Imapaja is in central Aus these days. Who decided what that mix was obviously wasn't a kid. The ABC was always the ABC and shows what the city did with the exception of a few shows that were country only. I watched Top Cat with my kids more than I watch it as a kid...but I do love that troublesome cat.

Makes sense since I would have been obviously watching re-runs of those shows. I believe they used to have those 'toons all back-to-back but for some reason I only remember a few of them, until I got older and started tracking them all down on DVD and watched the shit out stuff like Hong Kong Phooey (still watch this one occasionally), The Yogi Bear Show, Wacky Races, The Magilla Gorilla Show, The Hair Bear Bunch etc. For some reason I could never get into The Jetsons, even these days I just get nothing out of it. :/

Flintstones was a Saturday night after the news thing for us. For about 6 months of the year we got Flintstones and then the other 6 months we got Wonderful World Of Disney, which at the time was movies like Herbie etc. I think the ABC played Magilla Gorilla, but I don't remember it on often and Wacky Races turned up from time to time in Bugs Bunny, or some other cartoon show. I never got into the Jetsons either but I reckon there is more enjoyment in cartoons as an adult, I think cartoons are wasted on kids. :)

Some cartoons are best left to kids at the same time, got a buddy who swears by Captain Planet even now that we're in our 30's and man is that show trash. It must be pure nostalgia for him because it really sucks.
