The Top 5 List Thread

Been going back to my prog roots lately.

Top five Jethro Tull albums:

1. Heavy Horses
2. Songs from the Wood
3. Minstrel in the Gallery
4. Thick as a Brick
5. Aqualung

Top five Genesis albums:

1. Selling England by the Pound
2. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
3. Foxtrot
4. Nursery Cryme
5. Trespass

Screw it, it's just every Gabriel-era album except for From Genesis to Revelation. They're all amazing.

Top 5 Trivium full lengths:
  1. Ascendancy
  2. Shogun
  3. In Waves
  4. Silence in the Snow
  5. Ember to Inferno
This will probably change after I give the new album a few more listens

5. ...And Then There Were Three

I still haven't heard the first two (yeah yeah I know). I could have put Wind and Wuthering at number 5 but I've really taken to ATTWT.

Tull:
  1. Stand Up (in terms of pure listening enjoyment)
  2. Aqualung (harder to listen to, but had the biggest impact on me; "Aqualung" is one of my favorite songs by any band, and was quite revelatory when I first heard it)
  3. Heavy Horses (my "spiritual favorite", but a few of the songs are weak)
  4. Songs from the Wood (a handful of amazing songs that I go to individually, but underwhelming as a whole album)
  5. Thick as a Brick (a masterpiece, but a bit overwhelming, and doesn't have any of my favorite material)
Gentle Giant:
  1. Acquiring the Taste
  2. Octopus
  3. Gentle Giant
  4. The Power and the Glory
  5. Three Friends
