My Imperial IPA poured from my keg! Smells fucking wonderful.

The mouthfeel is creamy, huge hop flavour, and a smooth bitterness.

Heathen Red version two, is much more subtle than the first version. The hops are definitely there, but they are in the background while the caramel malts are way up front. It's just an combination of hops and caramel flavours. Think of Rogue's American Ale, but way more bitter.

I have a Russian Imperial Stout, Rye brown Ale, and a Mild sitting in the fermenters now. Just bottled my Belgian, Wee Heavy, and ESB (Extra Satan Beer). I'm excited to taste the Belgian, even though it came out a bit different out of the secondary.

I'm going to be brewing an American Strong Ale, with the same malt bill as Arrogant Bastard, but hopping it with Columbus and Warrior.

Mike and Jerry, how did your IPA turn out?!

I brewed a hopdevil clone, but with Centennial instead of Cascade, so it came out like a Hopdevil/Stone IPA; It's FUCKING awesome.

It's citrusy, spicy, and malty. Pictures to come this weekend. I also brewed an Indian Brown ale with oatmeal and a Rauchbier, where I smoked 50% of the malts for 4 hrs! Bacon BEERS!

fuck yes for rauchbier. rockin'.

i'm totally going to brew some beer with a buddy when i have some money

probably something easy like a british-style brown ale to begin with

I think stouts are the easiest to brew because if you fuck up, there are tons of dark malts to hide your mistakes.

I was talking to a friend about the beer I've made, and his response was, "do you ever make a beer that doesn't start with hoppy?"

The last two beers I've made:

Extremely hoppy IPA. 100+ IBU (all through late hope additions)
Rye Octoberfest with California Common Yeast

My questions:

Should I drive to Chicago to see Agalloch (after seeing them the night before) or brew a smoked Barleywine. The reason why I ask this is because I'm thinking about brewing a big beer on my birthday every year. I've never seen a smoked barleywine, so I think this would be ace.

Also, Erik. Make and American IPA. You can drink it in 4-5 weeks and it'll taste ace. Check out Nogne's American IPA to see what I'm talking about.
