and, honestly, it all has to do with Dax's vocals. Best performance of his life imho. The music/songwriting can get a bit repetitive but his vocals carry it all.

i've known this shit for a while, i just felt like randomly spouting it. admittedly i didn't like it when i first heard it, but then "song with no name" clicked and now the whole album is growing IMMENSELY. the only dax album i haven't heard at this point is "we are night sky" which i'm pretty much getting asap since ALL the other ones rule.

also, i don't agree that the songwriting is repetitive. the songs are overall stronger and more varied than agents of oblivion and more fleshed-out than the new riggs album, for instance
